Great "Mid-life crisis" car
I recently bought a 2001 Eclipse Spyder. It was immaculate in and out as well as being one owner. The handling is amazing. The mrs. didn't mind as I only paid $5000 for it after trading in a 1996 Blazer that needed $3000 in repairs once again (and this was after an entire new 2000 engine installed a couple years ago). This car is so much fun. I gave up my Ford Probe GT Turbo when we got married. It handles well even in Indiana snow. I have to feather the throttle to keep it slowed down in the city. Even though it is the 4 cylinder GS it did make 150mph (shhhhhh .. don't tell the mrs) The added "My Valet" remote is great for remote starting/warmup. The dealer didn't know what that remote was for. If you are looking at this car I'd say buy one. I can't wait for warmer spring weather to put the top down. The front bumper guard is VERY low and sensitive to damage. Mine had one little crack on the right side. I just bought a $70 LeBra to cover things. You can buy a whole new primed front bumper cover for $98 in case you find one you are thinking about buying and want to fix that. Keep your money and buy this instead of that Corvette or Mustang GTS. Your mistress will appreciate your frugality. (Just kidding)

Power and Beauty
This car has amazing power, in all gears. the stearing is very responive and the convertible top is low in noise and works fast. the factory stero is good, with 7 speakers in the small cabin. the back seat is a little small, but i never use it anyways. a lot of people stare at me as i go by, so if your trying to get the ladies, just drop the top and roll by

2001 eclipse
I bought my car in 2004 and I fell in love with it. It is reliable. Actually not too bad in snow. It helps to have good tires and knowing how to handle a vehicle in bad weather. Some things about it need to be improved. My car didn't come with many features! No keyless entry, glove compartment light, trunk light. Not too many extra things that are nice to have. Pretty simple interior. Also I only had the car for less than a year and it started to rust on the driver side. Not good for a lot of passengers or carseats. Space in the backseat is very limited. Easy to bump head on rear window when sitting in back. Trunk won't open by hitting trunk button in car. Have to open it with the key. Trunk also sqeaks when I open it. Little plastic coverings to the bottom of the seats have come off numerous times. Lately it hasn't been shifting as nicely. Otherwise, it is a very nice looking car on the inside and outside. Very sporty. That's my favorite feature that got me to buy it. After owning it for a while I wished it had more features. It is nice getting people's heads to turn when I drive by though!

Best value
I bought my car new in 2000 for under 20K. It has been worth every penny. I have had minimal maintanence costs and the handling of the car is sick. Anyone I've let drive my car is incredibly impressed with it's acceleration, steering and handling. I would HIGHLY recommend buying this car. I've contemplated selling it recently, but my boyfriend loves the way it drives so much he's trying to convince me to keep it and fix it up and I think I just might. It has 100K miles on it and still runs like new. Not to mention it has been EXTREMELY reliable. I love the car so much, I am pretty sure the next car I buy is going to be a top of the line new eclipse. One complaint tho--it is very difficult to get in and out of. And if you are over 5'7", you will hate the interior b/c it's so compact.

Great Handling and Looks for the Money.
I've owned my car for the past two years and have put 20k miles on it. It now has 53k miles. Have had very little problems with it. Handling is excellent, feels like its gliding. Performance lacks due to the weight of the car, but a good amount of torque for what it is. Great car for a student.

Most Reliable Car I've Owned
I own a 2001 Mitsibishi Elclipse GT. It is semi-automatic. This car has given me nothing but good things, from the styling of it, to the actual performance, and it is worth every penny I paid for it. The styling of the interior of the car is nothing extra special, but still very excellent. The cup holders are good for coffee lovers like me(not flimsy, but built in between the seats), and the seats are comfortable giving enough room for anyone. The back seat, I'm sure is uncomfortable(not that I ever sit there), but it is a two door sports car, so that is to be expected. The exterior of this car is something special. It's excellent design puts it a notch above the rest straight out as a stock car. When modified this car can be excellent enough to ride with the best of them, and even when not modified, it is certainly never a joke. Put the money into it in the right places, and you will see good results. The car is, however, far from all show and no go. The V6 engine does not fail to give its all, the actual acceleration being improved when making use of the semi-automatic transmission. When adding an exhaust kit the car puts out enough horsepower for a car fan like me. In addition, the car has had absolutely no seriou probems. It taks a fair amount of gas, but once again, you get what you pay for. The premium fuel you pamper this car with goes straight into the performance and the preservation of a good engine. despite however i have driven this car, it keeps going with me. In short, every penny I've put in, I have not regretted. Verticle doors are the next step for me, have fun with yours!

Fun in the sun!
This car is a lot of fun to drive! It handles smooth, is comfortable, and it really grips the road. The interior design is easy to operate and the exterior styling speaks for itself! I would not recommend this car for a teenager however due to safety ratings. Enjoy the ride but play it safe.

Great Tuner Car
Ive owned the car for over a year now. It has 40,000 miles on it. Since then I have done some aftermarket modifications to it, which really make the car awesome and fun to drive. But even without modifying it, i had a fun time driving it. I look forward to having this car for many more years.
