I ended up saving one from the crusher, turned it into a dirt track car even with the stock Buick 3800 v6 that old girl would kick xxx shame it never came with a manual it was a shame when they fizzled out Oldsmobile it was a pioneering brand if I do say so myself. And reliability? Top notch I rolled that car more times then I could count and every time that motor would fire right back up only time it gave me trouble is when a cylinder lost compression but other then that it's a great vehicle

Bought used with 40k mikes. Currently 78000 miles and have spent approx 5000.00 in various repairs. Currently in shop with a 4000.00 head gasket problem plus a few minor things. Headlight assemblies are cheap. Interior is cheap.

Story is of two Intrigues. Bought my 2000 Intrigue in 2001 with 500 miles and a salvage title. Rental car that was driven into a rock that cut the passenger rear quarter. I replaced it and drove for 4 years and about 60k miles. Just changed the oil, brakes & tires. She had every option except sunroof, and heated seats, really a comfortable riding car. That car went everywhere, Miami to Maine, New York to Indy and everywhere between. Great mileage @ 25-32 mpg. Then at about 80k-120k miles and 2008-11, my Intrigue was hit and repaired 5 more times in the same quarter panel. The last hit frustration forced me to sell her to a friend who drove her for another two years, and gave it to his daughter as a college beater. She did just that buy not maintaining coolant, boom. Even with safe mode. Oh well! My kids were babies and they loved that original Intrigue like I did. So when they started driving, I looked for a safe car, an '05 Grand Prix was my search but a 2001 North Carolina Intrigue popped up with roof and heated seats, 60k miles and no rust. 5 years & 15k miles later, nothing but oil changes, tires, brakes, muffler, and front control arms. 28 mpg, and still rocking in the east to southern USA. Great car, a little dated styling with the large fish bowl like windows, & a Tesla like nose. I'd give it 7 stars if I could.

I am the original 30,00 mile owner. It will cruise to Florida with ease. At 80/90 mph on turn pike it just floats along. No effort. Very comfortable seats with at ease driving. Todays cars can not hold a candle to this Olds. Some try but none compares. A great value.

This car has a sleek design. Ice Cold AC! Nice ride. Very fast! It has 180,000 miles but the previous owner took good care of it. It still has the new car smell. Very spacious! The paint job still in tact. No fading from the hot sun in Florida. I am happy!

The car has been very reliable for the 5 years we have owned it. We are the third owner. It has never broken down or had any severe issues. It fits 5 people easy and the seats are comfortable. It has a good trunk size as well. While driving we averaged about 23 to 25 MPG between each fill-up which is very good for such an old model. If you are looking for a low-cost vehicle this is the one for you!

57,000 miles. Great smooth ride, pleased. Only $700. Gauges - gas, speedometer, rpm don't work, turn signals sometimes, these seem to be expensive to fix?

Got a good deal and really enjoyed this vehicle. I use it for driving the family around, getting groceries and work. I can pack my family of four and a trunk full of groceries comfortably.

We bought this 2000 Intrigue GX in 2003 with about 60,000 miles on it, and it was my wife's driver for about 3 or 4 years, 35-40 miles a day daily, city driving. Aside from tires, brakes and oil changes, it didn't need anything. We got an Aurora in 2006 and that became her driver, I inherited the Intrigue, and never had any issues with it, I did replace the cloth interior with a leather interior I got out of a junkyard vehicle (changed the passenger seat to power also), I added a Sony head unit with bluetooth, added a twin speaker 1200 watt sub in the trunk, changed the painted 16" wheels for chrome 17" Aurora wheels and Goodyear Eagle GT's, drilled/slotted rotors with ceramic pads, 24,000 GVW transcooler, new radiator, changed the ac compressor and water pump and had alternator refreshed, did one window regulator...this past week, I replaced the two lower control arms, ball joints, sway bar bushings and brackets, motor mounts, and outer tie rod ends. I did the blower motor twice and will have to do it again since the seem to get wet and that makes them rust and, unless you run it on high they seize and blow a fuse. It has over 170,000 miles on it now, always has had frequent oil changes with full synthetic, does not leak anything, installed a shift kit a couple years ago, no leaks and great gas mileage to go with good looks, great acceleration, handling-it is easily as nice as any car I have ever owned and is probably the most reliable car I've owned in 45+ years. If you can find one that was taken care of, with the 3.5 engine, get it and maintain it, it is truly a great car. Trans cooler and shift kit with this engine should last pretty much forever as long as oil is changed and it is not overheated.

I bought this car back in 2004 and ended up selling it 4 years later. I loved the car. The interior was great, features were great and just a really good car. As for the mechanics, not so much. Sure, it worked for 4 years. But I don't find that to be long enough. I had head gasket problems and just couldn't see myself repairing it again and again. So, I ditched it. Lesson learned. Always check your cars out before you buy them. Research extensively and make sure that the car doesn't have any plastic parts or parts that won't work under there. Check them out yourself and then have a trusted mechanic double-check for you. If the head gaskets weren't a problem, it's very likely I still would've been driving that car to this day. I was told by someone that Oldsmobile was a great reliable brand. Boy, were they wrong! If there weren't head gasket problems, I would've rated this car a 4 or 5 star on value for money and overall.
