Ram 2500 Cummings

I've had so many recalls on this truck, and issues that I feel unsafe to drive it. I have had 3 Dodge Rams prior to this one and never had an issues with them. My next truck will not be a Ram.

This truck is awesome

I went from a 2017 Subaru Outback to this truck as I needed a truck. I have owned this truck for 6 months so far. My particular trim is the Power Wagon. The Power Wagon trim should have its own section on this website by the way. it's a different beast from the regular Ram 2500. Most people even looking at the Power Wagon..know what they are getting: 410 horsepower, 429 foot/lb torque, solid axle front and rear. 4.10 axle ratio, 4x4, electronic locking diffs, electronic swayer disconnect, stock 2" lift, 33" tires, 12,000 lb. Warn in-bumper winch....Anyway...Looks: personally...this is the coolest, baddest looking HD pickup on the market. Driving: very smooth for a 3/4 ton truck on the road (I believe the Power Wagon is the only HD truck which comes with coil springs front and rear) Very comfortable vehicle. I drove this vehicle on a road trip 1600 miles one way...nonstop. Put a small mattress in the rear seat and my gf and I took turns driving and sleeping. This truck is the most comfortable onroad truck I have ever owned (I have owned 3 Ford Rangers, 2 GM 2500s). Towing: I have not towed anything as of yet but if you plan on towing anything over 10,000 pounds, Power Wagon is not your best bet as the Bilstein shocks with which it comes, are meant for great offroad performance. Payload is only 1440 pounds. In bumper winch works quite well. I intentionally got myself stuck in 2 feet of snow and ice just so I could use the winch. Pulled myself out just fine using the winch. Gas Mileage: I average about 12 mpg. On the highway I can get about 15 if I am light-footed on the highway. (The 6.7 Cummins Turbo Diesel is unavailable in the Power Wagon) Reliability: Still under factory warranty, but have already had the truck in the shop 4 times. First three times was something wrong with gasoline fumes leaking...just took them 3 times to figure it out. That has been 2 months, so far so good. The fourth time, my manual 4x4 shifter was shifting into 4wd when I would accelerate. The dealer said the motor mounts were bad. Not sure how those go bad on a truck which is less than three years old. But I am not going to say I am worried. I think those were just flukes. Overall I really like this truck. Very fun. Very large. Personally...I l think a better value than a Ford Raptor if you are considering that one (I know I know...not a direct competitor...but the Power Wagon is an awesome toy that you can actually use to tow and haul...the Ford Raptor is just a toy..IMHO) In vehicle amenities: I have heated seats, heated steering wheel..very nice. Remote starting on the key fob when you need to heat up the engine (or cool down the cab) UConnect system works very well. PROS: 1. Awesome looking truck. 2. outstanding offroad capability. 3. large bed, large cab. 4. sits very high. 5. Heated steering wheel and seats. 6. remote engine start. 7. Noticeable truck so if it gets stolen, easy to identify. CONS: 1. fuel mileage is not great. 2. Liberals may leave notes on your vehicle stating you are causing global warming. 3. If you live in an area that is densely populated with liberals, you may be more likely to have someone steal this truck since it is a little pricey and they think since you have it and they don't, they are entitled to it.

Incredible Power

We bought this to haul a 42' 5th wheel. It hauls like a dream and acceleration is incredible. I owned a 1500 previously and I love the RAM styling. Never had a problem with this car. And the Cummins gets unbelievable mileage considering how powerful it is, 17.5 in city, 22 hwy.

Great value truck

Lots of inside space, with great storage. My Ram is a 6.4 6 spd auto with 373 gears. Our primary function for this truck is r.v. Towing. Empty driving fuel mileage is outstanding. 18-19 at 70-75 mph. Towing 10000 at 60 mph I consistently average 10.5 to 11.2. I love this truck. I am in no hurry when towing, speed devils may get less. I have been in two emergency stops, both in Dallas Tx, and the braking performed exceptionally. Both times we were cut off, then the drivers braked to a stop in front of us. Cell phone users both times. My previous truck was a gmc diesel. I will not go back to diesel. I admit there are diesel advantages, but not enough for me to pay 10 to 15 thou more, then an additional 50 cents per gal at the pump. Satisfied customer now has 45000 miles and going strong.

Work Horse

I needed a new truck to pull our camper. The 6.4L has been very impressive. Overall fuel mileage has been around 15 MPG. I?ve owned Ford and Chevy?s before, but this time they could not come close to the value I?ve gotten with Ram.

Best 3/4 Ton

I have not had issues with the truck in the 2 years that I have owned it. The suspension is a bit stiff but overall it is a great vehicle.

Most comfortable truck I've owned

It is very comfortable with heated and cooled seats and plenty of space. It has lots of storage space as well and I'm very happy with the tool boxes on the sides of the bed.

Sixth Dodge / Ram truck I've owned

Just recently purchased this truck so I don't have a lot of time with it yet, but so far I like it. Gets better gas mileage and has more power than my previous truck.

Ram 1500 Big Horn Crew Cab

Absolutely perfect all around totally worth every penny. The engine is perfect size for towing and still gets great gas mileage. The interior is very spacious and the layout makes it very simple to drive, but still up to date with gadgets. I would never own a different brand of truck hands down best truck ever.
