2007 Saturn Aura consumer reviews

After over a week of comparisons, test drives, internet research, and constantly second guessing myself, chose the Saturn Aura. After having a G6 as a rental only days before, I can tell you the Aura feels nothing like it's GM cousins. It's also superior to the Camry I rented for a week. The Aura has a distinctly European feel to it's handling and sports a more 'high tech' version of the venerable push-rod 3.5L V6 featuring VVT. It's remarkably quiet and the interior is impressive with it's use of higher quality materials and elegant layout. To me, the Aura one of the best looking mid-sized sedans to come along in a long, long time. The lines are clean, gaps are tight, with large wheel wells pushed out to the corners to give it an aggressive, sporty stance. I picked up the base XE model, which is well equipped as is. The 224 HP, 220 lb ft of torque 3.5L V6 is mated to GM's rather antiquated 4- speed auto transmission, but it works well enough. Shifts are smooth and the car moves along effortlessly. Air conditioning, ABS, Traction Control, power everything, keyless entry, 17" wheels, CD/MP3 player, Onstar, and 4 wheel discs all come standard. Honda, VW, Toyota and even Hyundai have a hard time offering this much car for so little money. This is my first new car and is a radical step up from my 93 Mazda 323, which I just sold to a mechanic for $75. I just want to go driving now. I'm very happy with my decision and if anyone is in the market for a mid-size sedan, do yourself a favour - check out the Aura and compare it to everything else. In all honesty, I never thought I would give my money to a domestic auto maker, but GM has done their homework and created a bonafide import fighter...for real this time! There is no need for me to second guess myself any longer. The original point of Saturn's existence was to woo import buyers, so for me to choose a Saturn over everything else speaks volumes about Saturn's (and GM's) new direction and attitude.

You could put higher priced nameplates on this car and sell it with no problem. Ride is smooth and comfortable. Fun to drive! Has everything I have wanted in a car.

Saturn really hit the mark on this one! Truly a great car. I have owned a BMW 5-series and actually traded in my Audi S4 for the Aura XR. The comfort, performance, and options are right up there with the best of them. For under 30K, you will not find a better car out there for the money period.

This car is the most incredible car saturn has seen. Excellent job on the interior,exterior and under the hood, the 6 speed tranny really adds tho this car. This could be the best car I've ever owned and about the 20th so there is some competition..good to see a GM car ready to compete with the bloody imports..Gm turnaround in full effect, bring on the new trucks!!

Following the example from a book I read, of wealthy business owners who buy cars based on value, performance, and functionality, I have decided on the Aura XR. After several test drives, it has secure and excellent road handing ability due to its engine, 6-speed transmission, and suspension (along w/ Traction and Stability Control Systems). I won't mention the safety systems, air bags, and OnStar. Some of the interior plastic is not great but I can not base the overall quality/performance on minor things like some of the plastic. However, I can also base it on an excellent surround sound system that thumps:-).

After test driving a Camry, which wasn't as good looking or performing as I expected, I went and test drove the Aura and fell in love! This sedan is gorgeous and handles like a BMW! The options and price were great, so I bought a well equipped XR model. Also the salespeople were nice and even sang to me when I drove off! WOW what service!

Just test drove my next car in a torrential rain storm. safely, confidently, comfy XR 3.6, Black on Black with all options. Kudos !

i just got the Aura XR black on black all chromed out and let me tell you it is one sexy beast. I bought the first car on the street and everyone looks. The features are outstanding and it rides smooth. It also has alot of pep to get up and go! This car is fully loaded for a fraction over 26k. This car is fantastic and I am glad I got the first one in the region. I recommend to all! wow.

I have actually driven this vehicle already and this car puts Saturn on top of the list lots of good new vehicles from Saturn.
