2007 Saturn Ion consumer reviews

I got my Saturn Ion new back in 2007. I wanted an affordable black car with a manual transmission. This car has been a rock for me. I've put on new all season tires a few years back. In this past summer, 2024(158,000 miles), I had to replace the brakes. Outside of regular maintenance(oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes) that is all I have had to do! Mine is a manual transmission, which has been very helpful controlling the vehicle in the snow here in MN. I am very grateful for my Saturn and happy to share the feedback.

I've owned my 2007 Saturn Ion 3 for 16 years and have only had one small repair. Had a small leak in the gas tank and that is all. This is the most reliable car I've ever owned.

I bought my 2007 Saturn Ion with 90,000 miles on it. It gets 32 mpg and is low cost to maintenance. I had to put $3,200 into it after I hit 140,000 miles, but that was most likely because the last owner did not keep good care of it. Great city car!!!

Bought Saturn ION 2 new. Still have it in 2022. Great car with a lot of zip. Love the fold down front seat with protective backing. Can bring home 8ft. goods from Home Depot in my car. Same with the Vue. I used to sell these cars. The fold down seat is rare and so useful.

Bought my 2007 Saturn Ion in November 2020 with 103 000 miles. Going on 2 year's owning it at 131,000 miles and she's running great. Besides new breaks and some new tires and an alignment it just been oil changes every 5000 miles. It does burn oil a little bit so I usually throw in a quart about 3500 miles after each oil change. I have been VERY pleased it this purchase which was a bargain at $3500 🙂

Mom bought this car new in 2007. She gave it to me in 2012 with barely 5000 miles on it. I kept it until April 2021 with 46,000 miles on it. I detailed it, treated it with loving care, did all the safety recalls, regularly changed oil and rotated tires. No major repairs. Minor repairs included changing the tires, leak in fuel pump, changed front bushings. Great run around around car, very reliable. Dent resistant panels made parking worries non-existent. Biggest problem was the overall decomposing of the car due to age and lack of driving. I planned to keep it past 100,000 miles and retire with the car but it needed new shocks and struts and AC went warm. Total estimate to fix was $3000. Decided to buy a new Lexus and traded it in at the dealer for $3000. One month later, and the dealer is still trying to resell it for $7,500. Good luck! I hope the new owner can appreciate the babied car. I have the urge to drive by the lot to visit my old baby.

I cannot think of a better first car to give someone, it is reliable and has very few things to go wrong. It has only the necessities unless you get the higher trim levels, and it’s engine is just an amazing piece of work. It needs things done but it still runs perfectly.

Great on gas, smooth ride, cosmetically great. No issues at all. This would be a great buy for anyone. Lot's of recent work done. Cold A/C

It's a functional car, lots of zip, fun to drive, and has a large trunk expandable through to the rear seats. In excellent mechanical condition, some minor body paint scuffs, but overall great for the year.

I love this car. Drove it from Kentucky to Tennessee four times the first month I had it. Runs and drives great. Would recommend this car to everyone.
