Sa… turn the life back in these cars
Honestly, this car is very reliable shamefully a customer abused it didn’t have the periodic maintenance performed and almost ran it into the ground. So as a mechanic I bought it for scrap price it had 64,000 orig miles did everything that was needed to get roadworthy and this thing sips fuel even with the DOHC engine! I feel like finding these and resurrecting them cause they’re the underdog of economy cars…..

Love this car
This car is over 20 years old now but it has been a great car... If you find one with low miles and it is gonna be cheap you cannot go wrong... So great on gas, my Saturn just hit 200k and still goes strong. Muffler is loud and some minor stuff starts to break but honestly it has been a wonderful car thats never let me down...

Put Over 300000 miles on 3 different SL1s.
A an outside salesman, I drove approximately between 3000 and 5000 miles a month in my work around the hot Texas environment. These cars are the most dependable, low maintenance, and economical vehicle I have ever driven. I had one fuel pump go out on one car, cooling fans go out on most of them(Texas), and no other problems. You will not go wrong purchasing one with over a hundred thousand miles on it. Just check the fans:).

Great car
This was my first (and only) new car, bought in November 1998. It has 322,000 miles on it, and is finally on its last leg. Repairs were minor: replaced ignition tumblers twice, gear shift rod broke (simple duct tape fix), EGR sensor, normal wear/tear such as timing belt. Upholstery is still in great shape and was always easy to clean, even dog hair, although the fabric on the ceiling and sun visors is finally starting to dry rot. Consistently gets 34 mpg! Still has original clutch. I would definitely purchase another Saturn if they were still in business. This was just a reliable, inexpensive and simple car, will really be missed when I have to get rid of it.

Wish they were still made
Bought the car new in 1998, just click over 300,000 miles and it is still going strong. Over the course of the years, other than routine maintenance, I had to replace a starter, alternator and water pump. It still has the original clutch in it! I don't know how much longer the clutch will last, I am teaching my first daughter, who came home from the hospital after her birth in this very care, how to drive a standard.

My First Car
I bought my Saturn SL2 a year ago and i can say it is VERY dependable.. it one previous owner before me with about 98,000 it well pass that now and still runs... I've had to replace radiator because i didnt put any antifreeze and it bust..A/C compressor hose because it was very old but nothing major, a little noisy when driving fast and mine smoke when its time for an oil change, and the roof interior is falling ...but i love my little car it fits me!!!!!

Nothing to brag about...but great value!
Moved to Jersey 2 years ago and didn't even knew what a Saturn looked like. Read great things online and they're dirt cheap to buy and run. Bought my 99 SL with a couple of problems, but fixed myself. Great car so far, couple of mechanical problems but nothing big considering its 180,000 miles. Interior is not pretty and it feels like you're sitting on a bath tub. Exterior looks great and paint still shiny after 14 years, amazing!. Fuel economy is outstanding and with a manual is very fun to drive.

Saturn SL1
bought our car used in '01 with 25k on it. Just passed 282k 12 years later and have only had to replace parts for wear so far... I do the work myself because my mechanic used to laugh at the car when I would take it to him. Wouldn't trade it for anything...
