Totally toxic for me

I love my 2006 Scion xB--but I cannot drive it! Even with the windows down, driving more than a few miles makes me feel very sick. After a year, I've put only 50 miles on the car. I recently learned that the 2006 xB is one of the most toxic cars made in 2006, with thousands of times more volatile chemicals than most cars have. Since then, I've tried to get Scion/Toyota to exchange the car, or take it back. No luck. It's a great little car, if you're not allergic to it!

Great Car - Fun to drive

Great gas milage, and interior room. Seats are comfortable even on 3-4 hour trips. Stay with 15" wheels to keep ride smooth. This is the most enjoyable car I have driven in many years.

Best car I ever owned

I had my eye on this vehicle for a while. A gentleman pulled up in one where I work and told me to take a look inside. I am tall and to step up into a car and not lay back was great. I called and took a test drive one day and got the car the same day. I know many people don't like the box look I think it's cute and the comfort surpasses all the digs I get.

Super Reliable and Economical

My 2006 Scion xB is the best! What a great value to have a TOYOTA, more ROOM that anyone can believe until they sit in it and ECONOMY at it's finest! I would buy another one in a heartbeat!

great car for the money...made by Toyota

The Scion xb is a great little car for the money. Lots of add-ons are available at fairly reasonable prices including installation. Seems to be able to get onto the Freeway with no problem carrying 4 passengers, not as quick as my other car (Pontiac Firehawk) but not much is. Fuel economy is wonderful, 39.8 mpg at my last fill up combining town and highway driving. Very roomy interior. One family member is a 6'2"--300lb man who says he has more than adequate head and leg room while either driving or as a rear seat passenger, but although fairly comfy, the seats could be bigger. The visiblilty is outstanding, virtually no blind spots. The defrost is quick and complete which is a huge plus in rainy western Washington state. The Scion feels lots bigger than it actually is and even handles pretty good in moderate wind and rain. It does have standard road noise for a small car, but a slightly larger tire helps a lot. It has fold down rear seats so you can haul quite a bit of stuff if you want. Overall, this is a good, reliable economic little car. I am most pleased with the Scion xb

Good, not GREAT

At 18k all of my chech engine lights came on. After 5 trips to the dealer I was told a cam sensor told the computer a cam was out of position. Toyota changed out a cam sprocket on my last visit. As a mechanic I would have changed all cam and drive shaft sprockets and the chain but this wasn't done. They didn't even change the oil. As I was leaving, the service rep told me another xb with the same problem had just arrived and they were glad they learned how to fix it on my car. Not very impressive. My only other complaints are the stiff ride, the windshield wipers, and in south Florida the AC is very weak in August. Overall I like the car, especially 31 mpg city, but this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth

I traded a 2005 bonneville for this, and I love it

What a fun little truck, I can't say enough about it. No problem on the highway keeping pace, great gas mileage, lots of room inside, always gets a turn of heads and a comment. can't wait to get another!!!!

CANNOT beat this price

Sure, it kind of resembles a toaster on wheels, but this vehicle will not disapoint. Unique design, great features, LOW gas mileage (can't beat that these days), amazing sound and overall so much fun to drive.

Phenomenal interior space, but lots of trade-offs

I have had an Xb for 18 months. Got it because of the incredible headroom and legroom for 3 tall men who ride in it. Interior space is awesome and is perfect for long-legged folks and tall folks. It also handles large items far better than full-sized cars and even some full-size SUVs. Gas mileage is incredibly good: took long drives through the Sierra Nevada mountains (over 800 miles) with 4 large adults, airconditioner on constantly, keeping pace with all other vehicles on the road (need to turn off the overdrive though to keep the RPMs up, but it has the power to accelerate even up steep hills with a full load!), and mileage was at about 28 MPG. Interior is cheap, though. Visors are so small as to be worthless -- extremely irritating when driving into the sun. Seats are not comfortable on a long drive, especially if you're big (6-1, 190 lbs.). Road noise is persistent, though tolerable. Air conditioner is outstanding: great volume and temperature. For another $500 I would have paid to have rear a/c vents if they had been offered: the cabin is REALLY BIG (good thing) but takes a while to cool, even with the fabulous a/c system (not such a good thing). Overall, I'd buy another one, given the price. If you're interested in creature comforts, look elsewhere. If you're purely looking for a utilitarian vehicle that gets astoundingly good mileage and has loads of interior space, this is the car.
