Traded in my 2010 forrester for a 2019
Rides great so far. Only had it 4 days. I hope gas mileage is better in the 2019. Get comfortable and plenty of cargo space. I like that the glove box has a light. Last vehicle did not.

Happy new owner
By far, this was the best value and quality for the money. I compared this to a Honda CRV and a Mazda CX-5 and you get more driver safety, car safety, infotainment technology and features than the other two.

Very disappointed in my forester over time
First Subaru I've ever owned. I was attracted to the extra large moon roof, the nice design in and out and the safety features and intelligence of this vehicle and at the beginning loved it!! I now have 10,000 miles on it started with 8. At first I just thought it was user error so take heed in my words below! I have been to the dealer a lot, spent lots of time on phone with them, had the computer reset, done everything they've told me but it's like this car has a mind of it own. As time goes by it seems to have more and more issues. Sometimes my trunk works, sometimes it doesnt, sometimes my moonroof opens sometimes it wont, sometimes the car voice assist understands me sometimes it doesn't, sometimes the volume when talking to someone hands free through the car works fine sometimes volume goes down and wont come up. Dealer basically tells me everyone complains about the lift gate on the trunk but there's no fix yet, apparently it's an ongoing issue with Subaru Forester even older models . The rest they say they can't do anything about if it's working when I get it to them. Because in most cases after restarting car it works again. Even though I had a video of the moonroof not working. The excuse I was told is well the motor might of gotten hot?! Theres no tint on the windshield or the moon roof which causes us to not to be able to use it on hot sunny days. The safety features are great but can be annoying and some come on automatically and you either can't turn off or have to turn off everytime you restart the car. I love the blind spot indicators, the intelligent cruise where it adjust speed if cars in front of you and the eyesight actually saved me from backing into a car because it beeped and braked all on it's own. Doesn't bother me but my husband hates that the car turns off at red lights and starts back up as soon as you take foot off brake. Feature meant to save gas and help with emissions but down side it turns your air or heat off as well. So the cars not at all bad but I can't help but worry that if all these little things keep malfunctioning what will happen if one of the safety features malfunctions braking or speeding up when it shouldn't?? And I bought this car hoping it would last a long time but if it's already having issues this early on sad to think that may not be the case. Fyi we just took a long trip mostly interstate only averaged 25 mpg.

Seats are very uncomfortable.
Bought the car thinking the seats would be comfortable like older Forester seats. They are hard, the leather is stiff, the back has sides that do not fit back well. Made a big mistake buying 2019 Forester.

Dependable and good looking
This is my 6th Subaru and by far the best one I’ve owned. The Subaru brand is unequivocally at the top of reliability lists and it more than meets the criteria. I love the size as it is comfortable for 5, but it also is fuel efficient and very economical. This Forester practically drives itself. The safety features are what convinced me to trade in my Legacy, and they don’t disappoint. I love my Subie, and would recommend to anyone who is looking for safety, reliability and luxury in an SUV.

Lots of new tech to learn
The height of the driver's seat and the 10 position controls make all the difference in comfort at the end of a 2 hour drive. Rides well and is fairly quiet. I am pleased with my choice.

A great all rounder cross-over
Plusses: Space, seeing out of the car, tremendous ride over potholes, steering, amazing seat comfort in back & front, back reclines too. MPG overall 28.5 (city 27 freeway 34) 80% of our driving is city. Eyesight feature is for safe driving and accident avoidance that's for sure. Minuses: Biggest minus is jumpy transmission/engine when crawling of driving slow, say in 25 mph limit. It is not just ours, this is on others I've driven. Wind noise from door mirrors on freeway. Too complicated infotainment, with unnecessary features, such as typing in your anniversary and birthday - it's a car for Christ's sake. We have not driven in Winter yet, but X Drive looks a Winter and hill descent control too.
