So Far so Good

Car is roomy, comfortable, easy to drive. I came out of a Mercedes E350 and I can't tell you how glad I am to have gone to the Atlas. Best deal for the money on the market.

Favorite vehicle I’ve owned

Great vehicle. Has had several recalls. Wouldn’t be a huge issue if the dealership was easier to work with. Other than that it’s a very roomy and comfortable vehicle to drive.

SEL Premium Update and FWD SE rental

I really like this SUV except when the tiny yellow engine warning light glows without any obvious mechanical problem. Yes, to the dealer again. So far the fuel injection system has been replaced and on this trip the catalytic converter is to be replaced. I’m told that the third most common thing is the evaporator pump. Apparently there are increasing numbers of the 2018 SEL these issues. The dealer promptly provided service and a loaner as I live an hour away. The car has been otherwise all one could ask for in a vehicle with a more utilitarian style. I drove an FWD SE with the V-6 as a rental. There is a lot of wheel spin even under gentle acceleration from a standing stop in a regular basis. I think that this engine and transmission overwhelms the front tires, stock Continentals. I would only buy this car in 4 Motion for better power distribution. The tires on the FWD are turning into smooth erasers.

Atlas SEL Premium

I am an 19 year old who lives in Missouri and goes to school in Michigan. I drive around 35,000 miles a year and needed a car with a good warranty, and roomy enough to haul all my college stuff. I was attracted to the Atlas because of the warranty, looks, and the features (self parking, semi autonomous tech). I had a Cadillac SRX which was no sports car, but the Atlas feels lethargic compared to the Cadillac. If I had one complaint, it’s the power. The SEL Premium comes with the V6 but it truly doesn’t feel like a V6. It also sounds like a food processor when you really step on it. I understand that the Atlas isn’t a sports car, but I wish it had a little more oomf. The SEL Premium also adds the power folding mirrors, and park assist features which definitely are cool party tricks when non-car people ride with me. I do like the Atlas and it has performed well for a month & a half and 4,100 miles. I would definitely recommend this car to a family more than to one of my 20 year old friends. (I genuinely think I am the only teenager that drives an Atlas!)

Best SUV I’ve driven for priced under $32k

This car meets majority of my needs. I just wish they’d start making the base model with a sunroof and the parallel park assist. The SUV has tons of leg room for 7 adults. One con is that the trunk isn’t so large when you have the third row up. I don’t have the tow package so I can’t speak on that part. The horse power is nice but it could be much better. The gas mileage is amazing, gas cost less to fill this up than it did for my Nissan Altima at an empty tank. I love my car! So happy I got it, definitely worth the test drive. Check out the Apple/Android play feature for Navigation.

15000 miles

Persistent MIC light. No other indication of trouble. Called dealership who repeatedly stated that it would charge a 110.00 diagnostic fee if the problem wasn’t under warranty. The gas cap was secure...this causes the warning light as well. It would help if VW had a simple loaner system.
