We leased the ID4 AWD Pro.

We leased the ID4 AWD Pro. Previously owned an hybrid wanted to go full electric. Personally I don't recommend any electric automobiles (full electric) . We have owned VW automobiles before, the manufacturers are just not ready. We only kept it for 1yr6mos had to turn it in broke down on us twice. The last one left us stranded 45 minutes from home and dealership absolutely no help. We went to another dealership and traded for a VW tiguan ICE, maybe in 10yrs we will try again. If electric is your only vehicle for household don't do it.

This car has been, without a doubt, the best vehicle I've

This car has been, without a doubt, the best vehicle I've ever owned. From its reliable performance to its comfortable interior, every aspect of this car has exceeded my expectations. The engine is powerful yet fuel-efficient, making long drives both enjoyable and economical. The handling is smooth, and the ride quality is superb, even on rough roads.

Love the car hate the range under 200

I never even thought about an electric vehicle I did not think I could afford it so I went to the dealership and they had the ID for xxxxxx2021 for a deal that I could afford. I took it. I must say I love this car and a lot of ways it’s very comfortable. It looks great. It’s well made it is fun there are a few things I don’t like the cap where you plug-in the electric fell off and the driver side vent. My biggest issue with this car is the range it irks me to end it says 260 mile range I get you’re probably never get that but I’d like to get close. The most this car has ever got is 205 miles average about 189 to 200 mile range and this is not acceptable. I am in sales 250 mile range is great but to get less than 200 is not acceptable. Specially, over the car is this expensive. The color I love but underneath the door that panel gets very dull very quickly. It is also stressful because there’s not enough rapid chargers in Los Angeles. Part of the reason is I cannot have a charger at my apartment, so I have to struggle and try to find a rapid charger and there’s not enough of those around. Accommodate everyone. The infrastructure is building more level two chargers, which we don’t need. We need rapid chargers. I seen people almost fight overcharging stations. If I had to do this over again, I would’ve not bought this car at this time because of the lack of the charging stations but I actually do love it and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to gasoline again.

Avoid money hungry VW

My wife loves her ID 4. Unfortunately it has been subject to several recalls, at least one of which is very important, and since spring the parts have been scarce or unavailable. VW is building more instead of building parts for repairs. Clearly profits beat customer satisfaction. It seems the lessons of the diesel fiasco have been ignored.

Scamming?

12 v battery was recalled in the UK and was not in the US. Only mention replacement when software updates isn’t possible with this battery. VW will replace only to facilitate updates. So I get to eat the cost of battery replacement of 700.00

Love 2023 ID.4 Pro S

Love my 2023 ID.4! It’s extremely comfortable, drives great, gets good range (280 miles) and charges quite fast (180kW observed!). A lot to love about it, it’s a great crossover, roomy, good suspension, comfortable massaging seats!, nice features, the Travel Assist highway driver assist is excellent and is great for long road trips, the software is also good pretty responsive and not too buggy and I have not had any issues with it so far, the newer ID.4s have much better software than the first year 2021 models and apparently the 2021 models are getting updated. A lot of people complain about the ergonomics but I honestly find it to be a non issue for the most part, the steering wheel controls can be pressed like normal buttons and the sliders are responsive, also the window controls do not matter to me, the separate button for rear windows is not an issue, in fact it helps me from not rolling down the rear windows unintentionally. I really, really think the control issues on this car are overblown because within a day I was perfectly comfortable with all of it. The only issue I have with the controls is that the center sliders are not illuminated at night for some reason which is dumb but my muscle memory adapted quite quickly to it. The EV part of it is great, like I said it charges very well and has a good charging curve, the range is good, and the electric motors are well calibrated. The only other issues I have is that the stereo isn’t excellent for $50k, it is ok, it is not bad, but it is not a great stereo. Also the already mentioned not illuminated sliders. The app could also be better, but I do not care too much as I just use the keys and it works well. Also would like to see one pedal driving. But that is it, they are not big issues. I would absolutely recommend it to others, in fact I already have! It is really a great car!

If this is the future, I don't wanna be in it

I have a 2022 ID 4 as a company car in Sweden. It is the most awful car experience in my life. It is not the "electrified" part of it that's the problem, it is the user experience. The user interface is seriously flawed and it is just mind boggling how VW, one of the worlds biggest car makers, could launch something expensive and still so horribly bad! The infotainment system totally lacks structure, it is a nightmare to use. Functions stop working for no reason, like Bluetooth sound control suddenly freezing. A minor detail, but irritating. I still haven't figured out the infotainment system structure, it is just hopeless. The cruise control is dangerous! - it suddenly changes speed, several times it put the pedal to the floor becase it changed speedlimit to 110 km/h, problem was it was highway. I asked VW about this, they said "it reads faulty gps data". Yesterday it indicated 5 km/h on a 30 km/road. And the cruise control by default auto adjusts to this data! The inner lighting is a joke, the motion sensor on/off is just totally senile and I gave up on using them, which is a problem in the dark Scandinavian winter. The maneuvring of windows and mirrors is insane, why VW, why? The steering pulls and vibrates sometimes like it tries to correct you when you change a lane, just unnecessary and irritating. Seat adjustment works to some degree, but not always. Range is much lower than indicated, I get about 60% range from what it indicates. It is boxy, feels cheap and rattles. If this is the future of cars, I am seriously worried. I am now trying to make the company return this awful piece of crap. I want a normal car. The ID 4 is so bad that I lack words. I am in shock! It is even outright dangerous!

Great intro to EVs, solid SUV.

Just bought a 2021 1st edition which is pretty much the same as a 2022 xxxxxxw/ Gradient package. Love, love, love this vehicle. Since I have the RWD I am waiting for my reserved AWD to be delivered, if given a bargain for my 1st edition as a trade in, I will trade up to the 2022, if not I'd be just as happy keeping my 1st edition.

Thrilled with the ID4 as our first EV

After spending seven months and 10,000 miles with the RWD ID4 Pro S, we're still thrilled with this car. Our family of five fits (and rides) comfortably in our trips around town. It's nimble and accelerates faster than any of my past cars. Our range is usually at or better than advertised (except in cold weather--which is true of all EVs). The low cost of operating the car means that we'll usually drive this car on our road trips instead of our minivan, as we can also fit all the luggage we need in the spacious cargo area. While we typically charge at home, we've also charged over thirty times at Electrify America stations without fail--and quickly at that. I also fitted an aftermarket hitch to the car so I can use a bike rack to get our family's bikes around town and to the trails. So what holds this car from a better score? I'd prefer a few more physical buttons as opposed to operating things like air conditioning from the infotainment screen, especially when the infotainment center is slower to respond than a typical smartphone. The scheduled charging feature (to charge only overnight for cheaper electricity rates) doesn't work with the current software version--and US models haven't yet received any of the promised software updates. And the piano black finish on many spaces of the interior is a fingerprint magnet. In other words, small complaints aren't enough to keep us from highly recommending the ID4!

Not a very good car

I have a tesla 3 and decided to get the VwI ID4 for my son. After 4 months I had to take it toothed dealer 4 times . The doors are giving me a lot of problems. Also the whole car is made of cheap materials. I think, for the money tesla 3 is a better car
