Having worked on many different automobiles for forty
Having worked on many different automobiles for forty years, to include 1942 thru recent years I can state the 2020 VW Tiguan is the worst I have ever seen from the point of service and repair. For example, repairing collision damage to the frontend to include all radiator support, radiator, air conditioning, transmission cooler requires significant time (40 plus hours) as compared to the same on a 2010 Ford Escape (less than 6 hours). Another example is removal and installation of a Duramax Deisel in a 2001 Chevrolet 3500 which requires all the same components to be removed and replaced (about 8 hours which includes engine removal and installation). So, if you are considering doing routine maintenance as a DIY this in not the correct car no matter how great other features are.

Love the Tiguan S, except for the spound system.
This car is far superior to my previous 2021 Toyota RA4. In my distant youth I use to do some racing and handling is highest priority. Suspension, steering, 17" alloy wheels vs 15" steel wheels with hubcaps, full spare tire vs doughnut, 3 row seating vs 2 rows, 400 lbs heavier therefore more stable in windy conditions and roads that are not level, and much more. Only downside is the general Volkswagen issue with poor sound systems. Not only that, the after market is almost non-existent for the Tiguan.

Tiguan saved my life.
I've always absolutely loved this car for ALL of its awesomeness, but I decided to write this review today because my Tiguan saved my life. I've owned it for 5 years and enjoyed all of it - for its reliability, performance, comfor, style - you name it. But today, thanks to this car and its safety (airbags performance in particular), I am still alive, so I wanted to write this review because this car truly deserves it. Thank you to all the people who've made this car.

Comfortable, Roomy, Value, but lacks performance
The 2020 Tiguan is a great family vehicle for room and comfort, and style, but lacks performance. I would not recommend this vehicle to a friend, because of the insufficient performance of the engine.

Just bought
Had my 2020 Tiguan SE for 1 week now and we are having bad weather in Chicago. It is driving great in the snow and iciy streets. Rides real smooth. Love it so far!

Airbag Drama
The airbag just exploded while driving at a low speed zone. That's dangerous. I thought I it was the best car I had till the incident. Now the car is at the dealership and I am still fighting for a curtecy car.

Second Tiguan we've owned
We had a 2018 Tiguan SEL, the first year with the lengthened body. We loved the car, but with 40,000 miles on it we decided to trade it in for a 2020, trading up to the Tiguan SEL Premium R-Line - the top of the line. This car has all the bells and whistles, and it drives and performs better than the 2018. I don't know if that's because it's an R-Line or that the newer Tiguans had some performance and handling tweaks. Anyway, this is an awesome car - lots of interior space, great looking and filled with features. I can't see why anyone would buy an Atlas, which had about the same capacity, costs a lot more and, with a six cylinder vs the Tiguan's turocharged four, gets worse gas mileage.

Great Car
Plenty of pep, well styled, I completely forgot about the third row of seats until I test drove it but those two extra seats really put it over the top for me.
