These vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 301, "Fuel System Integrity". The fuel filter bracket configuration margins are insufficient. In the event of a vehicle crash, fuel leakage could occur. Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source can result in a fire.
Dealers will install a fuel filter protection bracket. Owner notification is expected to begin during March 1999. Owners who do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Volvo at 1-800-458-1552.

On certain sedans and wagons, the rear outboard seat belt anchorage bolts may have been incorrectly tightened. In the event of a crash, the seat occupant may not be properly restrained, increasing the risk of injury.

The screws which attach the throttle plate to the throttle shaft can loosen, allowing the throttle plate to come in contact with the throttle housing.
This condition could prevent the throttle from returning to idle position, increasing the potential for a vehicle crash.

On certain station wagons equipped with third seats, users of this seat, when exiting the vehicle, can come in contact with the tailpipe. Contact with the tailpipe can result in personal injury.
Owners will be requested to inspect the length of the vehicle's tailpipe and, if necessary, return the vehicle to a dealer for repair. Owner notification is expected to begin during the fall of 1998. Volvo Car USA, LLC (Volvo) is recalling certain 2026 XC60MHEV, 2018 and 2025 XC60 vehicles. The front seat bolts may have been improperly tightened, resulting in loose bolts.
A seat with loose bolts may not properly restrain an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Dealers will tighten the front seat bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 19, 2026. Owners may contact Volvo's customer service at 1-800-458-1552. Volvo Car USA, LLC (Volvo) is recalling certain 2025 EX90 vehicles. A spindle nut may detach from the Power Operated Tailgate (POT) drive units, causing the tailgate to suddenly drop.
A tailgate that suddenly drops can hit a person, increasing the risk of injury.
Owners are advised not to use the POT function until the repair is completed. Dealers will replace both POT drive units. Owner letters were mailed November 24, 2025. Owners may contact Volvo's customer service at 1-800-458-1552. Volvo's number for this recall is R10342. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning October 7, 2025.
