My 94 year old father-in-law sold his 2002 van to CarMax today. The experience was positive from start to finish. Every step of the way was accurately described and timely. And Denidra, who handled the sales paperwork may have been an actual angel. She treated my F-I-L with the utmost courtesy and respect. Due to his mobility issues Denidra went out to the vehicle in the parking lot to handle the required paperwork and then went back out to present the check. 2016 BMW 228 review
We purchased this car new as a second car, mostly to commute and for occasional trips. Pros, the design is flawless, the handling is perfect, and this car can be surprisingly fast, yet comfortable and silent (keep your eyes on the speedo to stay out of trouble). Cons: interior quality is truly underwhelming for the price of these vehicles. Plastics on the lower dash are flimsy, the leather wears out quickly, and the quality of construction is questionable (after 3 months, one of the taillights had to be replaced because it had water infiltration, and some plastic panels had to be put back in place inside on a regular basis). We sold this car after 3 years because we needed more space but, aside from the little annoyances due to the average quality of construction, the mechanic/transmission proved to be very reliable and the car so much fun to drive.
