Weatherford Honda review
I was contacted by Weatherford Honda and we discussed a 2OO7 Ford Shelby that was for sale. The main problem I had was that the dealership is about five hours away from my home and it was to far to visit.
2023 BMW M3 review
The M3 has gotten very luxurious while losing nothing in performance. Choices abound. the car starts in comfort/efficiency mode, if you are just going to the supermarket. But two "M" buttons on the steering wheel (you set them up yourself) can quickly change that. I have M1 set up for sporty and M2 for "to the max". The seats are a bit firm. I can ask the car to cool itself via a BMW app 10 minutes before I arrive. Many things like that. The manual transmission is standard BMW, similar to my 14 year old 1M. Many options are via virtual buttons, menus, and submenus, but I got used to it faster than I expected. Through the app I can check how much gas I have and what the tire pressure is and where I've driven (you can turn that off). It can connect to the dealer for regular maintenance. It's amazing! I'm not crazy over the electric clutch, but I'm getting used to it.

BMW of South AustinReviews
BMW of South Austin review
I had an incredibly stressful and unexpected situation with my car this past weekend, and I cannot say enough about the outstanding service I received at BMW of South Austin—specifically from Benjamin. I originally had my vehicle diagnosed at a BMW dealership in Houston, where I was told the issue was related to my control arms. I purchased the parts and had them replaced at a separate mechanic shop, which unfortunately turned into a nightmare. Immediately after picking up my car and beginning our drive to Austin, the original jingling noise was still there. When I contacted the mechanic, they dismissed the concern entirely. As we continued driving, things escalated quickly—my car began making alarming clicking sounds from the axle, something that had never been identified in the official BMW diagnostic. It got to the point where it genuinely felt unsafe to continue driving, as if something could break at any moment. We were stuck in a very difficult situation, especially since most BMW service centers in Austin don’t perform full service on Saturdays, and we were only in town until Sunday. Out of urgency, we went in person to BMW of South Austin just before closing—and I am so grateful we did. Benjamin (along with Rusty and the service team) welcomed us with incredible professionalism, empathy, and urgency. Despite it being near closing time and outside of typical service hours, Benjamin truly went above and beyond. He took the time to understand the seriousness of our situation and worked with us to come up with a realistic and safe plan given our limited timeframe. What impressed me most is that they were actually able to squeeze me in, fully diagnose the issue, and completely fix my car—something that felt nearly impossible given the timing and circumstances. That level of commitment and follow-through is rare. Benjamin’s genuine care and attentiveness stood out the most. He didn’t treat us like just another customer—he treated our situation with the urgency it deserved. Because of him, we avoided what would have been a very risky drive back to Houston, which could have led to an even more serious issue. This experience completely turned around what started as a frustrating and stressful situation. I would absolutely recommend BMW of South Austin to anyone, and I’m especially grateful for Benjamin’s and the whole service staff’s exceptional service. Thank you again, Benjamin and the service staff—you truly made a difference for us!
2013 BMW M3 review
I'd been driving 328i's for over 10 years but always wanted an M3. I only wanted an E92/S-65 version and took my time to find the right one. I found it two years ago (in 2018) at a dealership 900 miles away from where I live: It was a 2013 with only 27,800 miles on it. I flew down to check it out. It was Space Grey and had the competition package and cold weather package. Another interesting feature I discovered when I got there, was that it also had the Dinan exhaust system as well. The dealer never mentioned that and the web pictures never showed it. He had no idea of the added value. The car was spotless and I was impressed. The test drive sealed the deal. What a machine. I felt I stole it for $34,000. It has the 7 speed dual clutch tranny. I've always driven sticks, and my previous 328's were all sticks, but at 61 years of age, and with the idiot drivers in NC, I actually preferred a slushbox at this point. The dual clutch tranny is outstanding. The shifts are tighter than anything I could ever do with the manual, but if I want to go into sport mode, I can do it grabbing the console shifter or by tapping the paddles. While the M3 is more known for its speed, it is also incredibly comfortable to drive. The leather seats are well cushioned and just hug you from the side. I have a bad back, and driving this home from Miami to NC straight through, I had no additional pain at all by the end of the trip. The interior trim is fairly simple but well appointed. Mine has the wood grained dash, and also has the rear window power sun screen. Also has the recessed GPS and the premium sound system. This car is the last of a rare breed - a naturally aspirated V-8 with a sound that is simply glorious. It has three tones: a low smooth rumble at idle, a growl with normal acceleration, and an absolute roar if you jump on it. According to my 21 year old son (who owns my previous 328i coupe), I drive it too gently, though he's not always with me. :-) I let him drive it a couple of times and his face lit up as he put it through its paces in sport mode. I probably do drive it too easy most of the time. I don't track it, but I've certainly had some fun with it. It is nice to know I have the power there when I want it, especially on the interstate. Going into "M" mode is a real treat. The car just takes off like a rocket and it pins you to the rear of the seat. It's handling is firm, but not uncomfortable, and it takes corners with ease. Beyond its power and handling, this is simply a beautiful car with incredible lines, my favorite being the flared rocker panels. I originally figured I'd keep it for a couple of years until I "got it out of my system". I still haven't, and can't imagine I ever will. I still look forward to driving this every day. The newer M3's are admittedly even faster, but they sound like crap. I rarely even listen to music in mine. The sound of the S-65 engine as it goes through its paces is like a symphony to me. It now has 55,000 miles on it, and those are predominately interstate and back road miles to and from work. I'm getting ready to retire, so the yearly mileage will be even less now. I don't plan to sell it. It's just too much fun to drive. I recommend this car wholeheartedly. As the last of the naturally aspirated M cars, is destined to be a classic and I believe it will hold its value very well.
