In my 20s, I had a 2005 Cadillac CTS in red. It was a wonderful car—super fast, and I loved driving it. It was both sleek and powerful, and honestly, that car was my world. I regret not keeping it, even though it needed thousands in repairs. Fast forward to today, and I have another Cadillac. She’s beautiful, but she’ll never be my first love.

I have owned many cars--both old and new-- in my lifetime and the only comparable one to this one is the 1979 Cadillac Seville I purchased in 1980. I was lucky to find a 2013 2nd Gen Luxury trim model with only 11000 miles on it last summer and hesitated because although it looked showroom new, it was 9 years old. Best buy I ever made--it has everything on it anyone could want and drives like a dream. Comfort, styling, convenience, power, and so far reliability. I wish I could find a new one, but the closest is the CT6 and it is not half the car.

I initially shopped at Sewell Cadillac, but they were extremely greedy and unwilling to work with me. That’s when I called Martin Vara at Cavender. From the very first conversation, Martin told me Cavender would give me a deal I couldn’t refuse without seeing any other offers—and he absolutely overdelivered. At this point I knew this was my dealership. I didn’t need to go back and forth and shop around because Cavender put their best foot forward from the very beginning. Martin coordinated everything seamlessly. I spoke with the Sales Manager over the phone, we agreed on numbers quickly, and they immediately removed the vehicle from inventory. While I completed my credit application and paperwork online, they had the LYRIQ prepped and ready to go. Martin called to let me know everything was approved and ready for pickup. When I arrived at the dealership, the Cadillac facility was beautiful, and everyone was welcoming and professional. Within five minutes, I met the Sales Manager—super friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely great to work with. Any last-minute questions were answered clearly and honestly. While I was signing paperwork, Martin took the time to walk my wife through the LYRIQ, explaining all the features and giving her a full introduction to the vehicle. I bought this car late in 2014. I wanted the Cadillac CTS but didn't want the CUE that came with the 3rd gen. So I went with the last year of the 2nd gen, 2013. It doesn't handle quite as well as the 3rd gen, but it is still very fun to drive. It handles the curves and keeps those tires planted. I have AWD and that suspension helps keep the car planted in these Iowa winters. The brakes stop this car on a dime. Trips don't necessarily get planned by the quickest path, but rather the most fun path. The curvier the road the better. The car has had very, very few problems and none of them were major problems. Wheel bearings have had to be replaced, but the way I take those curves, that's expected. When I bought this car, my wife and I still had our kids living at home. This care could fit everyone and luggage. And the tech was really great for the time. Of course, new tech has made some of what this car has seem obsolete, but since my main focus is a car that's fun to drive, it doesn't bother me. You can probably tell that I highly recommend this car. With nearly 92,000 miles, it still drives great and the engine is just as responsive as the day I bought it. I also like that for servicing, I just go across the street from my workplace. It can go to any GM dealer, whereas if I had bought one of it's German competitors, I would be travelling a while. If you're looking at one, buy it. You won't be disappointed.

It’s a very laid back dealership no pressure salesman and a nice selection of vehicles. I didn’t buy the original vehicle I went to look at but the salesman showed me other things within my price range. I did purchase a vehicle from them and I love it very clean and well maintained. Finance was straightforward and easy my credit isn’t the greatest but they got me approved for a rate that was even with my credit union. I would consider going back to them in the future.
