I bought my 2012 Equinox used, with 30,000 miles. I was able to get 201,000 before trading. Lots of little mechanical issues and replacing parts after 150,000. AC stopped blowing out of vents... that is a $900 fix. But engine overall was good and she never needed a transmission!

My 2012 Equinox has 156,000 miles on it and I've never had any engine problems. I plan on driving it until it dies, which I hope won't be any time soon. And I might get another one when it comes time to replace it. I love it.

The Equinox held the road well on ice, in slush, and in deep snow on days that I was on the road before the snow plows. It has always been reliable and has never left me stranded. I’ve had no major issues in over 107,000 miles. I appreciate the cargo space which is much better than the newer models. I regularly recommend Equinoxes to my friends and family.

I bought the equinox used and and have owned it for five years. It has been a great vehicle! Gets 25-29 mpg and plenty of room for cargo. Currently has 106K+. We've had no major problems with it. Had a safety recall on wiper blades ball joints. But that was resolved.

Okay the car burns oil and you have to put in the Dexos high priced oil,but to me that is a minor annoyance.It runs great and gets good gas mileage. Is comfortable to drive too. The BIG problem that I have not seen mentioned is that the A/C ducts are horrible! The drivers is blocked by the steering wheel and most have very limited adjustment, In sunny Florida this is a major drawback.

I bought my first exuinox in 2019 and I absolutely LOVED it. It was so comfortable and for as big as it looks it handled like a normal car. I who is normally scared to death to drive in snow was no longer afraid to leave the house. The kids loved it as well! I ended up wrecking it head over tail and rolled three times! The only thing I messed up was my suspension. Me and my kids didn't even get a scratch on us! I would most definitely say it is the safest vehicle I have ever been in! Cudos to chevy for making such a wonderful safe and comfortable ride!

I bought a 2011 Equinox w/2Lt, with the 3.0L VVT. 264 HP engine and 18" wheels. This vehicle was T-boned on the passenger side door with air bag deployed and thus declared totalled by an insurance company from a previous owner. This vehicle was rebuilt and salvage title issued with approximately 38,000 miles on the odometer. This vehicle turned out to be a very good experience so far as I have had some repaint done and I replaced my wheel hubs, brake rotors, calipers and brake pads with high performance parts. With this power plant configuration, I can pull my droptail trailer loaded with 2 cruiser motorcycles to Sturgis with absolutely no problems whatsoever. I change oil every 6 months with under 3,000 miles on the oil. The engine does not use oil. I am a conservative driver and use extra caution while trailering. I added a Curt class IV hitch with no trailer brakes. Trailer payload on the scale is 1900-2200lbs depending on what bikes I decide to take. However, I would not have considered ANY Equinox with the xxx I4 Ecotec Engine. Those engines were built with a batch of bad timing chains from Mexico and GM ended up replacing a boat load of those engine. I am a mechanical engineer.

We bought 2017 Chevrolet Equinox 4 cylinder. Pre owned with about 59k miles. It’s over 110k and we’ve had the oxygen sensor and catalytic converter replaced. Also 1 tire sensor. We’ve put the 2nd set of tires on the car yesterday. Always Michelin as recommended and brake shoes. I just have to say I still love my car. It’s paid for and I’ll drive her as long as I can.

I have put over 145,000 miles on vehicle, has been to New Jersey to Florida multiple times. Very comfortable, always starts up, Always changed all fluids, including transmission fluid. Oil changed every 3000 Miles. Car is quiet and no rattles on vehicle. Updated the car with Double Din Radio to modernize the vehicle. Has been giving me around 25 mpg, so cannot complain. Lots of leg room in front and back and a great SUV to haul stuff around when you put back seat down. Wish they did not downsize the new models, I unfortunately, need the large space inside. Great SUV for the money and comfortable. Just make sure you maintain it, and it will take care of you. Remember, this vehicle uses a timing chain, not a timing belt, like you will see in other reviews. Always have a mechanic check car before you buy vehicle. I personally have no regrets on buying vehicle, and has only cost me an alternator and two wheel bearings plus one battery and tune up and oil changes tune up and just recently, exhaust muffler just put on. Not bad for 14 years of ownership.

I would have had a good experience with the car if it wasn't $200/year in maintenance. I've had it going on three years and have replaced the battery so far cuz I like to sit in the parking lot on breaks at work. It's not a bad car and the battery replacement was necessary because how else am I going to get the thing going. Great car. Don't expect much in power and even when you're riding solo you misguide the rpm of other SUV's with higher HP. You can guarantee in your city you can't find a better car. If you're in America buy American.

Met all our needs and inexpensive to maintain. Oil, spark plugs, oxygen sensors. Since it is my wife's car I have also done maintenance to suspension, cooling system and brakes on regular basis.

I am the original owner of a 2005 Equinox and still find it to be a dependable automobile. Gasoline, oil and tires are all that's ever needed. It is garaged so the exterior as well as the interior is in excellent condition. It has 68,000 original miles on it due to having a second auto as well. I have no plans of selling it especially since I chose it over 3 others offered on a Dayton, Ohio radio contest.
