I am delighted with my 2023 CX-5 Signature in the hard-to-find Eternal Blue. I've had it about one year now and it's more than adequate for my driving needs. No, I don't need a rattle-prone pano sunroof. The six-speed non-CVT transmission is just fine. Never need or use(less) the paddle shifters. Performance with regular fuel is just fine. As an "early senior", I don't need huge cargo or passenger space. Only complaints are the Apple CarPlay isn't wireless; and miss the power tilt/telescope steering wheel and power memory exit seat that I had on my unbeloved '20 Lexus NX (which I was glad to get rid of!). All told, I'm a Mazda believer and buh-bye Lexus!

It’s so rare these days that I have an exceptional customer service experience, so I wanted to share this one with anyone considering a Subaru (or anyone around Asheville looking for a car.) I was in the automotive business for years, and I rarely met a dealer who runs his business like this guy. From the first contact (via email) with Skye Autohaus in Weaverville, the service was top-notch. I visited the dealership several times to check out different cars, and each time I showed up, the folks were friendly and helpful. The cars were ready to go, even started and heated, ready for my test drive, on a particularly cold day. It didn’t matter that Travis had the “deal” due to a referral (meaning, he was my salesperson). I was helped by Ed, Kristen, and Rob, the owner. Kristen delivered the car I chose, even though she won’t see the commission from it. I highly recommend her and Ed, whom I worked with the most. Dennis, who details the cars, was around and provided great information, as well. Everyone I interacted with was super friendly and personable; that’s important to me. The car I settled on is a real beauty. One of the things that makes Skye Autohaus exceptional is that they buy great cars to begin with, and go over each with a fine toothed comb, taking care of everything they possibly can before they sell it. My 2013 Outback Premium has a new transmission, new tires and new brakes. It was clean as a whistle on delivery, and the experience from start to finish couldn’t have been better. With the money I saved on the car, I purchased an extended warranty that will cover it for another 3 years. The Keurig was always ready to go, and they even have half and half in the fridge (none of that fake crap)! No pressure, no haggling. They hand you the keys to any car you’re considering, let you look it over, take it for a drive. They’re available for questions, but they don’t push anything on you. They know they have great cars and that if you don’t buy the car, someone else will. I really can’t say enough good things about the folks at Skye Autohaus. And, they ship their cars ANYWHERE, so you don’t have to live in Weaverville (Asheville) to get a great car at a great price. AND, they're going to consign my Volvo, so I don't have to deal with selling it. I'll pay them to detail it, they'll take care of a couple of small repair items at wholesale, list the car on every website they advertise their cars on, show the car, and complete the deal! This is a follow up review, I did have to change the head gaskets out on my 2010 forester. I've seen this is common, once again, the work is able to be done by a DIY mechanic. Since 2020 Ive had to change the ignition coil, spark plug wires, head gaskets in February of 2024, and also the crankshaft position sensor. The car had 165,000 miles when the head gaskets needed changed. So far it has 173,000 miles and still runs well. Also changed were the clutch and throwout beairng, and another timing belt change. It still runs very well, the exhaust is getting rusty and have had to fix that, overall its been a good car. I've owned it for 12 years and the ability to work on it yourself is what I really like about it, it isn't fast, but its quite utilitarian and my dog loves it as well. So if you don't mind working on your own stuff its one of the easiest cars to work on with the way the engine is oriented in the longitudinal position. I've always changed the oil every 4-5000 miles since I've had it, the heads and valves were completely clean. I'd say if one keeps up the servicing on these they are good vehicles to own. Not looking forward to when it blows, they don't make plain cars like this now adays.

Travis came in early to accommodate my schedule to test drive a Crosstrek. Traded fairly for my vehicle. No nonsense transaction. Super pleased. Mechanics on hand. Super fast process when buying a car during a pandemic
