Marked Down MotorsReviews
Marked Down Motors review
I had wrecked my wife's car in a rear-end accident. Rats! Faced with high insurance costs, I looked for a replacement car. It had to be a quality brand, known for reliable high-mileage life. When I narrowed my search on cars.com, I was amazed. So many many cars were at one dealership. It was Marked Down Motors. I was so interested, I had a friend take me down to Lancaster to look at a particular Prius that seemed to be in amazing condition. When I arrived at the dealership, we were amazed. I think I was immediately interested in at least five of the ten cars on their lot. Curious? Just go to Marked Down Motors yourself. You can find the car you need if you look for quality, older, low cost, amazing transportation vehicles. They just don't carry ANY junk, to save you time!
2009 Ford Escape review
My 2009 Ford Escape was my work vehicle from July 2009 until August 2019 (I still have it but my 16 year old daughter drives it now). I never missed a service visit, and it never failed me on the road. At the end I was running about 25 MPG Hwy, and 20 MPG City. The Escape is especially gentle on tires as I had one all-season set on for 100,000 miles. Hardly ever needed break service, but most of my mileage was highway. My ONLY real complaints are the cloth seats, and the fact that this model tends to rust at the rear wheel wells. The cloth seats stain extremely easy, even with a water spill. I eventually put in front seat covers, but would put them on all seats from the beginning if I had to do it over again. I understand from my mechanic that the wheel well rusting is common due to the design (I live in Indiana and we have lots of salt on the roads in the winter). I have an estimate to fix the rust, but it's going to cost about $1,000/well to do a proper job of it. Since I am an engineer, and I own my business, I kept detailed accounts of the maintenance costs and they have averaged $0.04/mile to date which I think is outstanding. Unfortunately Ford ruined the latest Escapes as they are now "cross-overs" whatever the xxxx that means so my new vehicle is a Jeep Wrangler. However, I still love my 2009 Ford Escape as it took great care of me for 10 years, and will take care of my daughter for many more.

2009 Ford Escape review
Bought a 2009 6 cylinder Ford Escape LTD. Bought it used with about 68,000 miles in 2013. Loved the look and handling. Extremely reliable vehicle. Did regular maintenance, oil changes, tuneups, tire rotations, replaced tires twice, high speed wheel balances done with alignment, etc. Recently had an oil pan gasket replaced. Never any major repairs, except replaced the water pump x2. Once in 2018 at 150,000 miles again in 2024 at 208,348 miles. It always ran great. It was a southern car until 4 years ago. So, did not have a rust issue. Unfortunately, a Buck came out of nowhere last week after dark and totalled my beautiful Escape. I wasn't hurt. But, the frame was damaged and it was not worth repairing with 213,000 miles on it. I am sure it would have made it to 300,000. Trying to find another. But, live in the North now and rust is a major issue. Heartbroken! I wish Ford would go back to making this style of Escape and with the 2009 reliability. I am hoping to find a 2008 thru 2012. But, need the AWD version. The FWD wasn't great traction in the rare snow we had down South. But, still managed to get me home when a freak snowstorm hit...and everyone was following my car, lol.
