2024 Genesis GV80 review

2015 Honda CR-V review
One year and 37,000 miles later, my 2015 Honda CR-V EX-L, purchased from Bill Kay Honda, has exceeded all expectations! I bought this gem with 50,000 miles on the clock, and it's been nothing short of a dream. Dependability is the name of the game here – this car hasn't skipped a beat. Gas mileage has been consistently impressive, making both city commutes and long road trips a breeze. As expected with any vehicle of this mileage, routine repairs have been standard, but nothing out of the ordinary. The EX-L trim package adds a touch of luxury with its leather interior and upgraded features, making every drive comfortable. The spacious interior and ample cargo space have been perfect for everything from grocery runs to weekend getaways. Having finally taken the plunge into the Honda world, I now understand the rave reviews from my mechanics. This CR-V has proven its worth, and I'm a loyal Honda convert for life! I want to specifically mention the excellent service I received at Bill Kay Honda, especially from my salesman, Bert Tvrz. The sales process was smooth and transparent, and Bert went above and beyond to answer all my questions. He even called the previous owner to track down the owner's manual, which was incredibly helpful. Even a year later, I'm still thrilled with my purchase. I felt that they were honest and upfront about the car, and that is very important to me. Tip: If you're looking for a reliable, fuel-efficient, and comfortable SUV, the 2015 Honda CR-V EX-L is a fantastic choice. Regular maintenance will keep it running smoothly for years to come. We purchased a 2016 Volvo V60xc with 96k miles on it back in late June of this year. I gotta say, I was a bit nervous buying a used car from a small dealership but Leno and his team were immediately friendly and accommodating. We were looking for this specific model and year of Volvo and felt comfortable with the mileage as this was a local one owner car. Leno provided us with a CarFax report and gave us opportunity to do two test drives. We were already approved for financing with our own bank but we decided to let Leno shop financing and sure enough he beat our bank’s rate by almost a full percentage point with another well known local credit union. The buying experience was super easy and relaxing. We took the car home on a Saturday and all was well for the short drive home. Sunday we took a drive that was our first real test of the car. Much longer than our two test drives that only included a short stretch of freeway from the dealership up one exit to Wadsworth and back. To our horror after a bit of freeway driving we noticed a strange vibration that wasn’t present on the test drives. When we got home I emailed Leno and informed him of the issue. He responded quickly on Monday and asked me to bring the car to their repair shop to have it looked at. I did some research in the meantime and discovered that it was likely a failed U-joint on the driveshaft which only became obvious as the vehicle heated up on a longer drive. My local Volvo mechanic also suggested that as the cause. Sure enough Leon’s technician verified that it was in fact a failed driveshaft. After the diagnosis and to my absolute delight, Leno called to say that he and the owner of the dealership would like to replace the driveshaft at no cost to us. Literally a day and a half later the car was back in our hands driving as good as new. We’re now over a month into owning this car with absolutely no issues since the driveshaft repair. I can’t thank Leno enough. Buying any used car comes with risk, but thanks to Leno and the Carboard team we had a fantastic experience. Thanks again Carboard!

After finding a 2013 Mini on Cars.com, I messaged the dealer. They responded quickly. I booked an appointment and met with Tracy. She treated me well, and over the next 2 weeks I decided to buy the car. Though this is a Mazda dealership, they knew the car well. Even better, they told me how I could make my payments to reduce the interest I would pay on the vehicle. This was a real bonus, saving me thousands of dollars during the life of the loan. The day after I drove it home, it broke down. It would not start. I took it back to the dealer and they fixed it straight away. They did not even ask me to do any paperwork. It was a relay that happened to malfunction, and their guy that "talked Mini" fixed it.
2022 Kia K5 review
Took the family to Vegas for a week. Enterprise have me the choice between the Malibu, Charger and K5. My youngest didn't want the grey Malibu and I didn't want to pay for the gas on the Charger with the V8. So we went with the black K5. I drive a SUV so it took some time to use to bending down to get into he car. Once we started driving I noticed how smooth and quiet the car was. The car accelerated with ease and the braking made you feel safe. My Dodge Journey is 2015 and doesn't have all the new tech. The K5's blindspot and car In front of you leaving warnings are great features. Although the K5 had great features the only negative I had was the infotainment unit. The unit worked just fine, I just didn't like how it was integrated. It looks as it was installed as an afterthought. Looks like it was just inserted like a Lego piece, I would prefer it flush in the dash.

2023 Mazda CX-9 review
Despite this being the final year offered (the CX-90 will replace it soon) the CX-9 is still a looker. The 6 speed transmission shifts smoothly and the 2.5L turbo has plenty of power to move this 4200 pound AWD, SUV. Seats are very comfortable in both first and middle and I keep the third row folded down leaving a good sized cargo area for hauling groceries, 50lb bags of birdseed, softener salt and anything else I need to carry. And I absolutely love the way this thing handles! It feels far more like a nimble car than a 3 row SUV. The 12 speaker Bose sound system is clear and powerful. The cabin is very quiet at all speeds. The ride is firm but solid and comfortable. Not a squeak or rattle. I have the Carbon Edition and I feel it looks as fresh as any new three row mid-sized SUV out there. I traded my 2019 Ram Limited (an incredibly luxurious truck for the Mazda and I was concerned about adapting to a smaller vehicle but the CX-9 is everything I could have hoped for. I would recommend anyone who enjoys driving and has to occasionally carry some bulky stuff to consider one of these before they're gone.

I did a lot of research before visiting Carboard and I ended up purchasing a 2006 Toyota Highlander from them. Leno went the extra mile to get me the lowest APR rate possible and it was low! He really made the effort to do so. There was no "shady sales pressure" to buy like the big dealerships. On the way home the check engine light came on. I let Leno know and he told me to bring it to their service department which is only a few blocks from their lot. It was diagnosed as a faulty catalytic converter and he had it repaired at no cost! He also offers discounts if you use their shop for future repairs. I read some reviews that say they are in a bad part of town. Very untrue. It's on Colfax in an older section of The Denver Metro area but nothing unsafe about it all. I would be comfortable bringing my grandkids there. If you are looking for a great place to buy a used vehicle I highly recommend paying them a visit. Give them a chance, you will not be disappointed!

2016 Honda Pilot review
Great quiet comfortable road car. I commute between cities about 500 miles, and appreciate the performance, seat comfort, handling, quiet cabin, and decent mileage (about 32 at 70mph, about 29 at 80mph). Only hitch is the cabin controls being a reach from the drivers seat, and having to look over. Mine has a CD player which is great for books and music on the long drives.

2022 Nissan Leaf review
After owning many Nissan LEAFs over the years (Canadians kept buying them from me), the newer body style in 2018 release was a total winner. Better looking and the ride is definitely more refined, and our 2022 is flawless. These cars are the best kept secret in motoring. They are a HUGE value, and would be a great only car, but in almost all instances, the PERFECT second vehicle. They cost almost nothing to drive and maintain, and the insurance is also very reasonable.

2016 BMW 528 review
It is due to my age the ultimate driving machine, the performance and fuel efficiency are fantastic it is what you expect from a BMW. The only thing I don’t have anything good to say is the ultra expensive of the dealers maintenance cost unless you have some really good mechanic to see your car and retired that I am you spend a fortiune paying for service no other complain.

2023 Audi SQ5 review
I regretted trading in my 2023 SQ5, but got a good deal on the trade value. I wanted a larger car and in reality the size of this car is fine unless you have to carry around a lot of people or cargo. Eventually, I just got a Q8, which seems like a marvelous car, too. I am an Audi guy and I hate to hear other reviewers trash the car or at least the software. I sure hope I do not suffer those problems with the 2025 Q8 Prestige I got.

2014 Ford Explorer review
Good experience, very nice handling and easy to manipulate all the features. Mine is the limited version and it is really a nice and enjoyable car. Not sure it’s the in 50 plus years of driving but it is darn close.

2023 Mazda CX-50 review
Have the 2025 CX-50 in white premium addition. Often think whether I should have bought the turbo as I wish I had some more power, but I didn’t want to give our insurance a reason to hike rates. It gets the job done and in style. Interior is nicely finished but I’ve experienced many little rattles from instrument cluster, A pillar, mounted Bose speakers, etc. lots of felt tape was needed to mitigate. Technology is the major con here. Constantly have to reconnect Bluetooth so I just plug it in now all the time. Wireless phone charger never works - it overheats seemingly after two minutes and stops working. At times the tailgate buttons seem to get confused and don’t know what you’re asking it to do. And the way the doors all lock / unlock together can be frustrating and I’ve learned that it depends on how many times you hit the disarm / unlock button on the key fob. Finally, memory seats never worked since buying it new, and I’m too lazy to bring it in all day for that. I like the car but I’m not sure I’ll get into another one after my time is up with it.

2021 Ford Explorer review
I love my ST all except for seating. I’m just not a fan of European style seating soo we had an upholstery shop up grade them. Sooo much fun to drive! Great gas mileage considering I’m a lead foot. And when needed you can put a full 4x8 sheet of plywood in the back.

2018 Ford Escape review

My wife and I recently purchased a new car from McDonald Mazda in Lakewood. I’ve purchased 7 cars in my lifetime from dealerships, and this was by far the easiest and most satisfying car purchase I’ve ever made. Customer service was EXCELLENT, and even the finance manager (Johnny) was super easy to work with and not pushy at all. I was so surprised at how open and transparent everyone was with buying a car. AND it didn’t take countless hours to make the purchase. Yaay!! Our salesperson was named Santiago, and he was extremely helpful in answering our questions, and showing us all the details about the car we ended up buying. I was expecting some type of dealer fine print to pull the rug from under us, or some excuse about why the price was going to be higher, but everything was clear and accurate (I like to research cars before I even go to a dealership to look at them). We got way more than I expected for our trade-in, we were able to take advantage of Mazda’s financing deal AND special discounts, and Santiago even took our photo with the new car once we were done (and put it in a frame for us). Seriously?! I’ve NEVER had a dealer/salesperson come anywhere close to this level of customer service. 10-stars for McDonald Mazda, Santiago, and Johnny. You know they made a lasting impression because we still remember their names a month after buying our car! :-)
2023 Honda Odyssey review
This is my second Honda Odyssey Elite having traded in my 2019 for a 2023. Why did I make the trade? I hadn't had any problems with my 2019, but the trade in value of my 2019 made the purchase of a 2023 a "no brainer". I had considered purchasing a Toyota Sienna Platinum because of the fuel economy. But the price of the Toyota was so much higher than the Honda, especially when you consider that the Rear Seat Entertainment System costs extra on the Toyota and dealers are adding premiums above MSRP. I calculated I would have to drive the a Toyota around 80,000 miles before I would actually begin saving money on gasoline.

2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E review
My first EV car. Not sure if I love this car or the fact that it is an EV. What makes this a bit different from a Tesla is that it still reminds you of a regular car in terms of gear shifting controls and displays. My car is a premium trim, dual motor and long range battery extension, so if you get a lower trim, the experience might be slightly different.

James and Lin were great. Night and day difference between this dealership and another I had gone too. It was my first time buying a car and I had already had Earnhardt Toyota nearby rope a dope me around for 5 hours with bs. I went in and they were able to get me the car I wanted at the price I could afford. This is stress relieving as I am a college student that works full time. They had me in and out in less than 3hours and they were easy to work with, were very straightforward, and had very little bs to drag you around and keep you there forever. Overall, great experience buying my first car.
2011 Lexus LS 460 review
Just a spectacular vehicle. Quiet, comfortable, a joy to drive. While I am not knocking American auto workers, I like the fact this one is only made in Japan, I think their reliability is even better. Whenever I get in another car, it's ride pales in comparison to my LS460L.

My mother and I went to Carmax with the intention of doing a trade-in with our 2007 Chrysler Town & Country. We wanted to downsize on the amount of vehicles that we owned and had discussed the possibility of purchasing a new car for next year. We worked with a sales consultant by the name of Mike Snyder, who was very friendly and helpful! In a few hours we were able to sell the van and use the rest of the money to purchase another car that was within our price range, dependable, and roomy. Mike didn't try to get us to purchase a vehicle that was "out of our range" or anything that would've required us to pay "out of our pocket." He was straight-forward and honest; my mother and I had dreaded the idea of meeting a typical car salesman who tries to get a lot of money out of their client. We've purchased vehicles from Carmax before and we're glad that we did it again! We'll be back to trade-in our other vehicle, but it was an exciting and fruitful experience!
2025 Tesla Model 3 review
I have a 2025 model 3 performance bought new and no has 13k miles. Car has superior acceleration above and beyond gas cars and is quiet and smooth. Sound system is above average and once you learn the touchscreen system it's a breeze. App for Tesla outperforms all other car companies and camera system is great. Range is dependent on driving habits. The more speed the less range. Self driving is great as well. It is not perfect but really relieves stress during congestive traffic and road trips. During my ownership I had a rattle in the passenger door witch was fixed under warranty. Car's paint seems a little thin but acceptable. Interior is minimalistic but overall quality is good. Charging is easy if you charge at home and saves money overall. One on road trips as long as you listen to the GPS and trip planner you'll never have an issue with range. This is my second electric vehicle and Tesla is far superior than the first one I owned.
