2022 Mazda CX-5 review
We have owned our 2022 CX-5 Turbo for 10 moths and it is a great vehicle. Our previous SUV was an Acura RDX Advance. It too was great but this Mazda is of a higher quality and $10-$15,000 less when purchased new. Every once in a while the doors don’t lock when I walk away (I have it set up to do so) and that is the only issue I have had in 10 months and 10,000 miles. I highly recommend any Mazda product. We also own a ‘21 Miata RF, have owned several Miatas along with a Mazda6 Signature and a CX-9 Grand Touring. All have been great vehicles.

2022 Mazda CX-5 review

2023 Mazda CX-50 review
Have the 2025 CX-50 in white premium addition. Often think whether I should have bought the turbo as I wish I had some more power, but I didn’t want to give our insurance a reason to hike rates. It gets the job done and in style. Interior is nicely finished but I’ve experienced many little rattles from instrument cluster, A pillar, mounted Bose speakers, etc. lots of felt tape was needed to mitigate. Technology is the major con here. Constantly have to reconnect Bluetooth so I just plug it in now all the time. Wireless phone charger never works - it overheats seemingly after two minutes and stops working. At times the tailgate buttons seem to get confused and don’t know what you’re asking it to do. And the way the doors all lock / unlock together can be frustrating and I’ve learned that it depends on how many times you hit the disarm / unlock button on the key fob. Finally, memory seats never worked since buying it new, and I’m too lazy to bring it in all day for that. I like the car but I’m not sure I’ll get into another one after my time is up with it.

2021 Mazda CX-9 review
I absolutely love this car, its so comfortable so luxurious, such a nice smooth ride, powerful and spacious! I owned it for over a year, my only complaint, it didn't get very good gas mileage as I drove mostly around town. I averaged 24mpg around town, and about 28mpg on the highway. If it had gotten better gas mileage I would have kept it forever!

2016 Mazda CX-5 review
Whether you’re an enthusiast or not, you will enjoy this thing until the wheels fall off. Now, if you’re an enthusiast, or just someone who loves the feel of the road underneath you but needs something fairly practical? This is the car for you. With ample power, and steering feel that would put some sports cars to shame, you will feel confident, and often joyous when behind the wheel of the CX-5, especially with the Manual version that came in the “Sport” trim! Although that engine is suggested to be fairly gutless. However, if you prefer the automatic versions with the larger engine, like in my Grand Touring trim, you will absolutely be able to enjoy the road, regardless of the local speed limit. The CX-5 may not be the fastest car in its class, but it surely is the most fun, and the best value among its competitors.. but it’s mainly just fun. I recently got my CX-5 at my local dealer, and it has done nothing but get me to work when I want it to, taken me on small trips to wherever I want, and without any real complaints. Only times it gets annoyed with me is if I need to pass anybody at highway, but that’s what makes it so much fun to live with in my opinion, especially with the little rev-happy 4-pot motors that it can come with. In conclusion, if you want a sub-compact crossover.. but also want the feel of Mazda’s own roadster? Get the CX-5. It will bring you as many smiles per gallon as you need it to.

2025 Mazda CX-50 review
My tenth Mazda since 2010. Good looking vehicle, interior is well done. My only issue is road noise from the tires. It is a Turbo Premium Plus but louder than my 2019 CX9 GT. Not much wind noise or any other noise but just the tires.

Owned the car 5 months. Very happy with interior comfort and the stowing/storage space in the rear. The sound system is impressive. Took a little time to become accustomed to the entertainment system but I just needed experience. Good road handling in the winter. Practically no road noise. I appreciate the lane indicator features. Great small SUV

2025 Mazda CX-50 review
I am very happy with my purchase. I already owned a 2018 CX-5 and it never gave me any problems so I had no qualms about purchasing another Mazda. I went with the CX-50 Turbo Premium Plus for the horsepower and the extra perks (i.e. automatic folding mirrors, and I like that the side mirrors also turn down to see the curb when parking, front AND rear cameras, panoramic sun/moonroof, speed display in windshield, heated and ventilated cooling seats, and a 12-speaker Bose Stereo system). I love the extra power of the Turbocharged engine that my CX-5 doesn't have. The things I don't care for: 1) the retractable cargo cover (a $250 addl charge) doesn't attack to the lift (like my CX-5 does. It's much more convenient if it's attached so there's no pulling it out each time you need to put something in the trunk; 2) I don't like that I have to turn off the automatic shut off of the engine at stops and that I have to turn it off every time I get in the car. I'd like there to be an option to turn it off indefinitely unless and until I want to turn it on; 3) I would also love it if the driver and front passenger seats raised a bit higher. I'm not short but I would feel more comfortable if the seat height lifted another couple of inches. Overall, I really love my car. The steering is tight and the ride is more comfortable than I expected, and the inside of the cab is quiet and the stereo is premium. The seats are attractive with the light colored stitching to accent the seats. Because of all the features in my model, I got a lot of bang for my buck as opposed to a more expensive car costing $20K more for all the same features with Mazda reliability as well as more reasonable/affordable maintenance costs. I had a BMW several years ago and, once out of warranty, the maintenance is ridiculously costly. Additionally, the service department at the dealership where I purchased my car is top notch and the transparency for maintenance is appreciated! In the last 7 years of owning a Mazda, I have never had a bad experience.

2026 Mazda CX-50 review
The CX-50 is a great car. The exterior and interior are sleek and luxurious, and it drives great. The combo leather/canvas seats are awesome, because you still get the look of leather without the sticky/sweaty feel. Responsive infotainment system and variety of control options (joystick, touch screen, steering wheel buttons) is nice. AWD works great for me in the mountains.

Then left me outside to look at vehicles by myself while she talked bad about another employee. Ugh.... BUT the man who took over was great. He has been working there a long time and is perfect at his job. He has integrity and that is the best trait in a sales rep. Very helpful and has a wonderful personality even if he was stressed.
2025 Mazda CX-5 review
I bought a new 2025 Mazda CX-5 Signature before they were gone and no longer available because I really like that this car though not perfect and to some people kind of dated in design and execution but to me is full of good elements that future cars including the 2026 CX-5 will lack. Exterior styling that does not get old quickly and still looks good without being too flashy. A great interior that looks and feels premium with quality soft touch materials throughout. An engine ( Turbo ) and transmission (Not a CVT!!!) combo that makes driving a pleasure. The way the suspension is setup is another thing about this car that makes me want to go for a ride any chance I get. The meaty steering feel , not over assisted and numb. This is a compact SUV that shouldn't feel this enjoyable to drive but it does. You sit a bit higher and taller in the saddle and have a good view ahead and around you with the nice large mirrors and 360 cameras . When my wife is riding next me enjoys the view. The wind shield is not too big and far away and steeply raked which is easier to clean inside and doesn't heat the interior up. The controls some might call old fashioned or retro but as far as I am concerned you just cannot improve on dedicated knobs and buttons for hvac and interor functions and the well placed controls on the steering wheel, drivers door and center consol ( The large control dial and volume knob are perfect!). And who doesn't love a good old shifter with a nice looking leatherette boot at the bottom of it retro but in a good way! Yes ok the the gauge cluster isn't over the top with flashy effects and the infotanment setup and screen size are dated but for me that's a good thing. I don't need too much tech or too much screen, this is more than enough for me, Call me an old fashioned nerd but I prefer books to screens anyday! The Bose stereo sounds good but isn't mind blowing just a good step up from the base unit. This feels like a very well sorted out and put together vehicle. You get in it and drive. No fiddling fumbling and adjusting this and that . You get in adjust your seat and mirrors and go. The pure enjoyment of just how well this car behaves in my hands makes me enjoy driving it. It feels tight and solid with a firm ride that tames rough roads well without being too floaty or harsh and punishing. I think it's a very good balance that rewards the drivers with good driving dynamics and fun. The brakes are solid, competant and feel right from the get go and take no getting used to. The turbo engine is really torquey and doesn't need to be over rev'd to get it to pull. It has a nice sound without sounding silly. Gas milage is not the best but I figured that to be and accept it. The tranny works well with engine. It is smooth and does what a good transmission should do almost invisably with no clunkiness or gear hunting. The CX-5 interior is nice comfortable ( and dare I say somewhat elegant and classy ) the dark Caturra brown nappa leather seats with contrasting stitching and perferations for heating front and back and cooling in the front look beautiful and myself and my passengers find very comfortable. The rest of the interior is mostly black with real wood trim ( Who does that anymore) The interior is quiet with no sqeeks rattles or road noise (so far)! Rear seat room is enough far the average sized person. And the trunk space considering the vehicle size is fine. All cars cost way too much now but what you get for the money I really think when compared to other compact SUV's is a good value and the quality fit and finish (Made in Japan!) doesn"t feel cheap. I only gave the reliability rating 3 stars because this would be better answered in say 5 years. 2022 Mazda CX-5 review
Have had our 2022 for 8 months now. It's been great, the fit/finish and ride are superior, IMHO, then my previous CRV and Rav4 vehicles. The only thing I would like to see is a touch screen entertainment center rather then the manual knob. The interior is well laid out with quality accents, feel and quiet, again far superior to our previous SUVs. So far it's been mechanically sound with no issues and we are enjoying it very much.

2020 Mazda CX-5 review
I love it! Bought it new in 2020. Grand Touring Reserve with the turbo in Soul Crystal red metallic. I'm currently at 56k miles with zero issues. I do oil changes every 5k miles. Originally I test drove a CRV, RAV4, Forrester, and CX5. I picked the Mazda bc it looks, feels, and drives like a luxury SUV. 320 |b/ft of torque for a compact really gives it the edge over anything else in the class. Four years later and it still feels as solid as the day I bought it. The handling's amazing, and the ride is great! Some people have called the ride firm but I would say it's super compliant. It settles very quickly over bumps without feeling upset. The Bose system sounds "good" but only has bass and treble adjustments with no mid which would make it even better. The ventilated seats work better than in other cars I tested as well. It's also one of the quietest too letting in very little wind and tire noise.

Got a new 2024 outback wilderness and love it. Process was VERY efficient and not pushy at all through the entire process. Finance didnt push a single thing on us and the extra warrenty price points were well within what prices SHOULD be elsewhere. 2024 Mazda CX-5 review
This is my first CX-5. I love it. Previously I drove a mazda tribute which was a 6 cylinder. I was reluctant to purchase a smaller vehicle with a smaller engine, but I’ve been pleased. My only negative comment is regarding the leg room in the back seat. It’s not great but workable for most average size adults.

Outstanding Features in the Premium Plus Package. A sporty model, fun to drive with Automatic Transmission with Auto Manual Shifting, Steering wheel paddles and a Sport Mode. The Heads UP Display not only features speed but also Blind Spot warnings, lane warnings, Speed Limit Signs, hand on wheel warnings and programable Variable Speed Cruise Control. Safety features are numerous including side, front and rear crash mitigation, automatic braking and Rain sensitive Windshield Wipers. Interior appointments are numerous including both simulated manual shifting mounted on the center console gear shift and paddle boards on the heated adjustable steering wheel. The Mazda cx5 Premium Plus Package includes easy to use center console-controlled display, heated steering wheel, heated and airconditioned front seats and heated rear seats as well as Memory controlled seats, mirror and Heads Up Display adjustments for 2 drivers. The Door and console trim is designed to match the Leather appointed seats with matched stitching. The 2.5 Liter engine offers the power and acceleration you would expect from a premium model. Sport Mode is available with the push of a button. The control panel for the Display are center console mounted to scroll through options with the touch of a Game Console type mechanism. Audio is fully customizable. The Mazda App alerts you of tire pressure, oil level and service warnings as well as a remote start and remote lock features. Front seat leg room is better than expected, though rear seat leg room is limited. Rear seats with a 60/40 split fold easily without removing the leather appointed head rests. Control your variable speed control, audio options and phone integrated into the heated leather appointed steering wheel. The Dash Board display includes your safety features, maximum mileage, current mileage per hour, speed and RPM displays as well as several other warnings including speed limit signs. Built-in Navigation is available as well as Android and Apple Play. Set your lighting options in the auto mode as well as adjust the rain sensitive windshield wipers. An awesome Premium Ride at a Moderate Price, with appointments typically found in omly Luxury vehicles. I recieve approximately 22 miles per hour city and 32 miles highway for a 28 miles per gallon mixed driving.

2024 Mazda CX-50 review
Keeping it short and to the point… Negatives: Front wiper leaves large area on passenger side untouched. Panoramic moon roof only opens to halfway on the front section of roof. No audible alert for rear camera No remote start option on key fob - only on Mazda app. Engine heat is felt down between steering column and peddles - will check with dealership during first service as this seems more than expected. Apart from what is mentioned above, this car is great to drive and I’m happy with everything else so far at 1600 miles

2019 Mazda CX-5 review
This is my second CX-5. This first was a 2016 I bought in 2019 and loved tremendously and then it was totaled when I was rear-ended by someone texting and driving during Covid. I drove a sort of hand-me-down Jeep for a while during the weird Covid period when everything was uncertain but knew I wanted another CX-5 as soon as I felt financially comfortable. The car is extremely comfortable, handles well and has a beautiful streamlined and simply classic look. My partner who is a die-hard Mercedes snob even loves it!

The facility is very nice and the atmosphere is definitely low pressure. The prices are on the high side for new cars, which they justify by saying the cars are thoroughly inspected prior to being sold. The prices are set - no haggling. My only problem with them is they seriously lowballed us on our trade in - I was expecting an offer that would let them make a profit on our trade in, but they were at least four thousand under a conservative Blue Book trade in value. I may go back if I sell my car on my own, but I won't be bringing in a trade.
2025 Mazda CX-5 review
Extremely pleased with the Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edition. Very comfortable on long drives. Everything in the cabin is convenient and easy to use. Averaged 29.5 mpg on our last trip. The interior is stylish as well as the exterior looking quite sporty.

2024 Mazda CX-50 review
Other than an error code that was fixed about a month after purchase. The CX-50 has been a pleasure to drive. Very responsive and once you get used to the safety feature built into the cruise control that is fine as well. It will slow down automatically when approaching a slower moving vehicle. If you change to passing lane it will then speed up until set speed or you approach another vehicle. Gas mileage is 24 city and it seems like 28 to 30 highway. Not actually calculated that but miles oer tank increases. Love the car but for me back seats seem to sit too straight. Not sure if they can recline or not.

2026 Mazda CX-90 review
Not a BMW, Lexus or Mercedes, but it comes reasonably close for the $20-30K savings. Upscale interior, tight handling, fairly quiet ride. I purchased the second from the bottom of the line: Turbo Preferred with the standard 280 hp inline 6 engine. Easily enough power. Negotiated the $45.5 sticker down to $40.5, still expensive but way lower than even the Honda Pilot. Only complaint: 3rd Seat is ONLY FOR KIDS.

2026 Mazda CX-90 review
After owning several luxury SUV”s , the Mazda CX 90 with the inline 6 engine, is amazing and just as luxurious! The cabin is quiet the ride is smooth and have taken several road trips without any problems. We have been very impressed with the gas mileage on this AWD as well. The third row is ideal for anyone under 5.11, and it’s very convenient to have rear AC that can be controlled by rear passengers.

2026 Mazda CX-90 review
3.3 Turb Premium Plus The Bottom Line I really want to love this car. It looks sharp on the road, and the dealership/salesperson experience was fantastic. However, living with it daily on a Premium Plus trim has revealed several glaring design and engineering flaws. From severe turbo lag to a center console layout that feels downright poorly thought out, it’s hard to fully recommend this specific setup. PROS Exterior Styling: The car looks great and has a sleek, modern presence. Dealership Experience: The buying process and the salesman were top-notch. CONS Severe Turbo Lag: When you press the gas pedal to the ground, there is a massive delay before the turbo kicks in and the car actually starts moving. It’s completely unresponsive and frustrating when you need immediate power to merge or pull out quickly. I'm ultimately just not a fan of this turbo. Poor Cup Holder Placement: The cup holders are far too small for modern cups. Worse yet, if you aren't incredibly careful when putting a drink into the holder, it is very easy to accidentally knock the shifter straight into Neutral while driving. Awkward Shifter Design: The shifter requires you to notch it over to the side, which is a lot to get used to. Because it doesn't feel fluid, it's far too easy to forget to put the car all the way into Park when getting out. Disappointing Storage: The interior storage is severely lacking. The center console bin is incredibly shallow, and there is almost no hidden storage space underneath the trunk floor panel. Subpar "Premium" Features: For a near-top trim, it’s just not that great. There is no option for an automatic easy-exit seat (where the seat slides back when you turn the car off). Furthermore, there is no remote start on the physical key fob; you are forced to pay a monthly fee for an app subscription just to start your car. Questionable Interior Build Quality: The leather/pleather area right around the door handles moves around a lot. There is a ton of play in that trim piece, which makes me worry it won't last long-term. Advice to Buyers If you are looking at the Premium Plus trim expecting a seamless, high-end experience, pay very close attention to the center console layout and the throttle response during your test drive. It has a lot of potential, but the daily quirks are tough to overlook.

Its a very nice car, very reliable, perfect for long trips, my only issue was that ot wouldn't shift while I was going up hills/mountains while i drove in regular, had to switch to Manuel to get it to shift properly. The back seat is way small for anyone to sit comfortably, and the seats are to hard to sit comfortably as well. But all in all I love my car i love mazda brand. I wish I would have gotten a bigger size and not the cx3.
