2013 smart ForTwo review
I love this car! It's my second smart, only this one is a convertible. It's fun to drive, cute and turns heads. The convertible top is easy to use by one person. People stop me in parking lots all the time to ask about it and to take photos. Shifting is a little rough in the lower gears, but man, will she go. I've had her up to 90mph a few times without protest from the engine. I can comfortably pass slower traffic. You get a bit of road noise at high speeds. I bought the car 900 miles from home, and really enjoyed the trip back. A small seat cushion is a good idea on long drives, but she's perfectly comfortable around town. I can park nearly anywhere, a big plus in big city parking garages and on the street. A big thumbs up for the Smart Fortwo!

2008 smart ForTwo review
I had mine for a long time, bought used as my first car, survived getting hit on the rear end, was simple enough for me and my dad to repair the few problems that popped up (at 164,000 miles) and kept going strong for me for 7 years until another accident got her totaled. I was perfectly safe from the accident, and the years I was driving it, it preformed fantastically. I see a lot of people complain about how it drives, and I will admit at first it was weird, but it really just takes you learning it. The shifts aren't random they're at specific speeds, and frankly if the shifting creates a problem you're either driving poorly or you have a mechanical problem. As long as you slowly go on the gas instead of suddenly slamming the pedal down the shifting is graceful. The issue I see some people mention about it feeling bad to control at highway speeds, I have not encountered. I drove 70mph highways 5+ times a week for years and never had a problem, did 85mph highways sometimes and still no problems. It has way enough room, I regularly had a 6'4" guy in the passenger and he was fine, I've had an almost 7 foot guy in the passenger and he admitted he was more comfortable in the Smart than any SUVs or Sedans he had been in. I'm a pretty small person so of course it's perfect for me, the turn radius and being able to park in essentially any space I want is amazing, the back actually has a lot of room and if you don't have a passenger you can extend it even more- I helped someone move with my Smart and while we didn't try furniture since we had a truck for that, it took 2 extra large boxes, a slew of plants, like 6 smaller boxes to fill gaps, 4 bags of vacuum packed linens, plus a decent amount of loose articles and knickknacks settled around, and it technically could have still held more. Absolutely fantastic car.

2018 smart ForTwo Electric Drive review
This is my 4th Electric Car. It has limitations (no fast charging), but it also is fun to drive and has a lot of storage places inside...seriously. I used to have a LEAF and still have a BMW I3, Tesla Model X and this in the garage. The ED is my go to for quick around town drives. Yes it takes 3 hours to charge if empty...but I knew that going in...and have never come home empty in any of the EVs.

Easy parking and great maneuverability (turns on a dime!). Rather jerky to drive at first, but got used to it. Drives like a standard on automatic. Feels/sounds like a little sports/race car to me. Getting used to avoiding manholes and potholes in road, because impact is harsh! Love driving it though! Great mileage. Gas cost reasonable. Tons of room for such a tiny car! Seating comfortable, even for taller passengers. Roomy cargo space. Love how it looks and how people look at it, haha!

I always get its so small. I bought this car just to drive to and from work after totaling my Subaru. I pay about 23 bucks for gas in the state of WA. I bought it preowned for 5,000 after taxes 7,400 with 25,000 miles on it. It's pretty good when driving. I won't lie, I'm a speed demon and this little car goes 90 mph. When its windy that's when the driving gets a little crazy. Maintenance for the car cost me about 500 bucks for two new tires and an alignment. The inside of the car is good. I usually use the passenger seat for my dog when we go to the park cause my husband would die if he was seen in it. The downside is I don't have a radio. But you can always install one

2016 smart ForTwo review
I have a 2016 and I an 6’ 4” my wife is 5’ and we are both 70. We use it every day and we live in a retirement community. We can park it right beside the golf carts. It is fun to drive with good gas mileage. It is not our trip car for sure but it takes up very little space up in our garage. It feels like a regular car once you are driving it . In fact it feels like a sport car. I don’t get out of a regular car very well but this is almost like a SUV to get out of. Our other car is a Genesis GV70 Sport Prestige . When we go from the Smart to the GV70 you think you are in a Bentley! The 3 cylinder vibrates or shakes (not crazy)through the first 5 mph but after that it is fine. It is not a car for everyone but for us it is the cat’s meow. We use it every day while the GV70 goes weeks without moving.

I have owned this car 2008 smart for 3 years and it work great some minor issues like engine light that was just gas cap and heater whlch i removed and cleaned. i live where it is cold and it will start in really cold weather most of the time. Got good tires and winter driving is good. With more attention this car would sell better in canada and states. would not part with it .

2013 smart ForTwo review
OK so I used to own a four2. Coupe. And i done it into the ground to the point of the wheel coming off! I had clocked 122k miles on that tiny engine. By thar time the engine was leaking oil, and obviously signs of wear and tear like the wheel incident were to tell me its getting old. Is had it 15 years. After paying to get it fixed to get out through its last mot, I knew it would not make the next one. Plus, it was only a matter of time before that engine gave up. And I didn't fancy taking that chance. So I traded her in and now drive a diff car. I would have bought a new smart but they're terribly over priced esp for 2 seats. Anyway... Time for change. I used to drive up and down the uk in that car following the avro vulcan. I must say, those seats do hurt after a long trip. But easily fixed with a cushion. I was also proud to have camouflaged the car to match the vulcan insignia.so much so was my obsession with that plane! I turned my car into the vulcan car. And its often get vulcan fanatics stop me and chat to complement me on how awesome my car looked. So before I changed, I removed all the decals. Like a factory reset. Vulcan was decommissioned therfore so was my vulcan car. Sad times as I had many happy memories driving that. I do miss the flappy paddles. And the insane turning circle and parking forwards in sideways spaces... Really peein people off ha ha. And I loved that car. It wasn't the prettiest looking. Funny looking are the 450. The 451 was the better looking model which superceded the 450. I do miss the brabus tractor wheel alloys. They were mad!! Widest wheels ever. And another thing. That car saved my life. The tridon safety cell. Id had a speeding car plough straight into me whilst I was parked. Had that car no cell I would not be here to tell this tale. Do to anyone asking are smart cars any good are they safe etc Yes they are. I used to take my car to car shows, as the vulcan car. And I'll never forget some old boy peering into my car saying "I wouldn't feel safe in THAT" how VERY wrong. Silly old fool. He's the kind who would tail gate me because I had a small car. I do wish though that they had stayed with the merc engines and not gone to Renault. Go figure.. 122 THOUSAND miles on a 698cc engine. I've owned fiat's prior to the smart and both broke down all the time. Gear boxes went, radiators over heating. I was forever getting the rescue out to collect me. Inevitably I think I will return to the smart. For me I'm old skool smart. You don't see many of them around now. The 450. I miss the waving to other smart drivers. All good fun. It's sad to think she's broken up now. It's bizarre.. On the day I went to buy my new car, I got out of the smart and locked it. It beeped. It never did that. Almost as if it was telling me not to leave it there... And so a chapter came to an end. Good night oyster.
