Owned Chevrolet for my whole life but never again
Have owned this vehicle since new and it has been nothing but an absolute nightmare. Endless emission issues electrical issues exhaust issues and interior problems. It has been the definition of a money pit. Just had to finally get used to the check engine light because it's constantly on. I have a hundred and forty thousand miles on it now and I adventure to say I've got more in repairs than I paid for the truck off the lot. That is not even considering the warranty work. I've taken the emissions off and it's still unreliable and still gets terrible fuel mileage. If you're looking at a used one run away! - Purchased a New car

Fantastic truck.
I bought this 2008 Silverado 2500 HD used with 60k miles on it in well-maintained condition. It has the 6.6L Duramax engine and Allison heavy duty transmission. I've had Fords, Dodges, and foreign trucks in the past, and this is hands-down the most impressive machine I have ever owned. - Purchased a Used car

Most reliable and inexpensive to maintain vehicle
I'm the 2nd owner of this truck. It has been incredibly reliable and relatively inexpensive to maintain and/or repair. Parts are readily available and not expensive. It's mostly just tires and regular servicing. The truck is a workhorse and I've used it as a daily driver and for various trips around the country. I've only put about 70,000 miles on it since I've owned it. I've had it checked out by Chevy and Allison and also by Nelson Truck Equipment and all of them told me that this is truck will last many more years and it was designed like larger trucks/tractors with Diesel/Allison engine/trans combos to last 800,000 to a million miles before needing any major work, and it has lived up to this expectation so far. Would not be concerned driving it across the country and back as long as regular services (e.g., oil changes, etc.) were done. - Purchased a Used car
