For 2020, the emphasis is on speed for the Vette. Engineers promised a sub-3-second 0-to-60-mph time with the optional Z51 Performance Pack, and it clocks in at 2.9 seconds using launch control. The eighth-generation “C8” is also good for a quarter-mile sprint in 11.2 seconds at 123 mph. The 6.2-liter V-8 has a 490-horsepower rating in base trim, but that bumps up to 495 with the Performance Pack. Chevy’s first eight-speed dual-clutch transaxle transmission is the sole gearbox.
