2020 Mini Convertible Sidewalk Edition Kicks Winter Worries to the Curb

2020 Mini Convertible Sidewalk

Winter just started, but Mini is already prepping for the sun-drenched days of spring and summer. The brand is dropping a special-edition version of its 2020 droptop, the Mini Convertible Sidewalk.

Outside, the four-seat convertible is dressed in Deep Laguna metallic body paint with model-specific hood stripes accented by color-contrasting edges. Other available colors include Midnight Black, White Silver, Enigmatic Black, Moonwalk Grey and Thunder Grey metallics; the exterior mirror caps are painted body color to match. The Sidewalk edition rides on 17-inch light-alloy two-tone wheels.

For protection from the elements, there’s a cloth soft top with a woven-in arrow graphic. Mini says the top was specifically designed for the Sidewalk edition and can be opened or closed electrically and quietly in 18 seconds.

Inside, the Sidewalk model features brushed-aluminum door sills with “Sidewalk” lettering. There are also special-edition seats. The anthracite-colored leather seats and surfaces pair with color-contrasting seams in Petrol and Energetic Yellow. The doormats have matching dark Petrol surrounds and Energetic Yellow seams.

The Mini Convertible Sidewalk will go on sale worldwide in 2020. No word yet on pricing, but base versions of the convertible start at $29,250, including an $850 destination charge.
