I was looking for a simple and quick buying experience. I was warmly greeted and after identifying the car I wanted we quickly agreed on an acceptable price. There was some give and take on both sides. The paperwork was done in a timely fashion and Bill Peterson delivered the car to my house that afternoon. A great buying experience.

I have purchased 4 Toyotas, 2 of them from Checkered Flag. The first one went to get the undercoating and all new stuff put on came back with a scratch. They even claimed we matched up the red paint and scratched it. Now I traded that car in 1 year later for a Yaris. I bought the Yaris in March 2008. The internet price was for 11,000 they told me I couldn't get it for that low. Bait and Real! I still buy the car what a mistake. I get a letter in September saying I owe them $500.00 because they accidently sent me a check. Then they told me I don't owe it. Now in June they told me I owe and they are wrong. I tried for 2 months to get in contact with them. Now the General Manager Rayfield is basically calling me a liar because his employees supposedly contacted me. I also traded in the Corolla when I got the Yaris and was suppose to get a $500.00 rebate, they never gave it to me. Its my problem now according to Rayfield. They are a horrible dealership. I am going back to Charles Barker Toyota where they actually care about customers. Their salesmen are also very judgmental towards women.

I first shopped online. I was even asked, via email, if if was okay to contact me with a phone call! I then received an online quote that was over $1,000. under the MSRP which another Toyota competitor would not match. In fact, their competitor would not budge on price and would not offer any sale price, only the MSRP!! The whole experience with Checkered Flag was plesant and painless, as the staff was friendly without applying pressure to purchase the extras.

Easy dealing, no pressure to up-sale, and a conserted effort to please even after the sale. Overall a quite pleasent experience. Kudos to all the folks at Checkered Flag.

Although my experience was overall good, the end spoiled...

Although my experience was overall good, the end spoiled it and the story I tell about getting the Prius does not reflect well on Checkered Flag. I was looking for a black Prius with dark interior with solar and nav package. I live in Michigan. All they (Michigan Dealers) kept telling me was to get on a waiting list and I probably would not get my color. This was not acceptable. I started calling dealers in other states. I finally came across Checkered Flag and my car. I worked with Dionne on getting a hold on it and making sure I had proper paper work. Jun made sure I was going to get same APR as in Michigan. They were very nice and accomadating. So, I drove 12 hours in my clunker to get the Prius. I left Friday night and arrived Saturday morning. Again all paper work with Jun went well and fast and as he told me it would. Jun ROCKS!!! I had to wait around for finance though. I was tired and wanted to get back on road. Jun was through with me at 1000. It took 2 more hours to get by Jim in Finance. I left at noon. Once I finally got back there, I told him SEVERAL Times , no warranty. He got crapppy. The first round of paperwork did not include the $4500 break it had 3500.I asked him to fix it. Then he said I did not qaulify because I was turning in a class one truck. He tried to show me some bs old folded in half piece of paper. It was insulting. I told him give me my old truck keys I was leaving. Then he said it was fixed and tried to sell me warranty again. I refused. Then he acted like his phone rang and said the deal was off, that my truck did not qaulify at all. I was pissed and over him. I got up again to leave. He pulled me back by the shoulder and said hold on. 10 minutes later he came back and said it was ok. He then again tried to sell me warranty. I agreed to it just to get the heck out of there. I was tired , had been up all night and felt like I was a hostage at that point. So overall, it was good. Checkered Flag needs to ease up on the high pressure. I felt like he was taking advantage of my situation. We were in the market to get rid of our Suburban too. I had planned to buy it next trip to Va with Jun. I will not go through the hassle now. Jim made it not worth it. I can get mistreated in Michigan.

The saga of my Highlander has finally come to a happy...

The saga of my Highlander has finally come to a happy ending. It turns out that the reason my truck was so long in being repaired was that someone at the collision center had noticed an area that was not up to Checkered Flag standards and had recycled the vehicle to refine the repair. The reason for the delay was actually a good thing - the MAIN problem was the total lack of communication. Had at any time someone from the collision center called and informed me of the situation I would not have had a problem in the world. I spoke with Mr. Ed Snyder and Mr. Randy Tozier and both were very pleasent to deal with. My confidence in Checkered Flag has been restored and I appreciate the service.

I attempted to buy a tacoma from 3 different dealerships...

I attempted to buy a tacoma from 3 different dealerships in the central Virginia area. At all 3 dealerships the trucks i wanted were either not available or were bought during the time i stood there and waited to test drive/sign paperwork. Once the sales person realized this they pretty much dropped me and told me they could'nt find any more of the trucks i wanted. I finally called Checkered Flag after a recommendation of a close friend. I spoke with Chad Whitmore in the internet sales department. He spent multiple hours on the phone with me getting my preferences and finding me a tacoma at a remote site. He then transferred me to Randal Turk in sales. Chad, Randal and i worked together at this point to locate the perfect truck and they got it on their lot within a matter of hours so that i could come down to purchase. Once i got to the dealership Randal made my visit as smooth as possible by answering all my questions and assisting me with the paperwork associated with the purchase. It was a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere because of Mr. Turk. Thanks Randal. Jim McNut assisted me with the financial portion of the transaction. He was very helpful with my questions and again kept the environment a relaxed one. This is very important to someone when spending this amount of money. Just want to say thanks to all 3 of these guys for a sale well made. If i would have been able to receive this level of customer service from a local dealer then i wouldnt have had to drive 2 hours to get to a REAL customer service center in Virginia beach! Excellent job guys. Keep up the good work. I'll be sending all my friends and family your way when they want to purchase.
