The advertised price is just a number used to get you to
The advertised price is just a number used to get you to the dealership. An additional $2,500.00 worth of useless, already installed, add-ons will be tacked on as soon as you show interest in the vehicle, but not before you arrive on site. I should have left as soon as I was told about this but I loved the car and I drove 4.5hrs to see it. The real problem is that I now know that they have additional dealer fees that, in my case, were grouped in with, and passed of Sales Tax. The fee itself is not the issue really. If I had been told that another $220 fee was required, I may have agreed to it during the signing. The problem is that I spent hours trying to resolve this over the phone, spoke with 5 different finance people, and was finally told that the dealership charges a title prep fee for out of state titles. My sales contract does not indicate this fee, the finance manager that I signed with did not disclose this fee. The dealership charged me for something and told me that it was sales tax. The manager did call and let me know that he was sorry about this.
