Audi Q4 e-tron Sportback

In a recent round of Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash-test evaluations, six out of nine vehicles earned Top Safety Pick+ awards, IIHS’ highest honor.

For 2025, the rear-driver Q4 e-Tron is back sporting upgrades and a higher numeric suffix in 45 instead of the previous 40.

These cars offer panoramic moonroofs or sunroofs either as standard or optional equipment for 2024.

The Q4 55 e-Tron boasts an additional 40 horsepower relative to the Q4 50, now totaling 335 hp.

The 71 vehicles that qualified for the awards for 2024 is an increase of 23 over 2023, when stricter requirements began to take effect.

There are many EVs on the market now that can handle light- or medium-weight trailers, and a handful of new electric light-duty pickup trucks can even go “tow-to-tow” with their gasoline counterparts.

The 2023 Audi Q4 e-Tron and e-Tron Sportback, the gas-powered 2023 Q8 and the 2024 Q8 e-Tron and e-Tron Sportback (plus their respective 2023 equivalents) have earned the IIHS’ Top Safety Pick+ accolade.

For the 2024 model year, all Q4 e-Tron models now have standard adaptive cruise control with lane departure steering assist and lane departure warning.

The 2023 Q4 e-Tron family of electric SUVs do very little poorly or foolishly and are a “normal” option for shoppers who aren’t as daring as some EV early adopters.
