The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has asked Tesla to issue a recall for media control units in more than 158,000 model-year 2012-18 Model S sedans and 2016-18 Model X SUVs.

The first recall for the Model Y has been issued to owners who ordered Tesla’s smallest SUV with a global rear lamp and the $1,000 Tow Hitch Package.

The bolts that attach the power steering gear assist motor to the gear housing on 14,100 model-year 2015-16 Tesla Model X SUVs may corrode and fracture.
