Vehicle Overview

The CTS, Cadillac’s midsize sedan, is offered with rear- or all-wheel drive. Three engines are offered: a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, a new 3.6-liter V-6 and, on the V-Sport model, a twin-turbo 3.6-liter V-6. The CTS competes with luxury sedans like the BMW 5 Series, Lexus GS and Audi A6. The high-performance CTS-V is covered separately in the Cars.com Research section.

New for 2016
A new available 3.6-liter V-6 engine with direct injection, stop-start technology and cylinder deactivation is rated at 335 horsepower. The turbocharged four-cylinder also has stop-start technology to save fuel, and both the four-cylinder and V-6 team with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Apple CarPlay technology for integrating iPhone capabilities has been added to the standard Cadillac User Experience multimedia system. Android Auto capability is due later in the model year. A surround-view camera system is now available.

  • Not your typical Cadillac from the past

The styling and performance are top notch while its not like the Cadillac your grandfather or father once drove. High performance and technologically advanced but not a comfortable car to drive or to take long distances unless you change out the run flat tires it came with. Luckily I purchased the tire/wheel package otherwise I would have had to puchase 5 replacement tires, one cracked rim and 3 other rims that had to be repaired in just little over a year or 8k miles. I don't beat on my car and its garaged all the time however the New York roads show no mercy to any run flat low profile tire. When my tire/wheel warranty expires I will have no choice but to replace all my run flat tires with regular low profiles because they just don't hold up to pot holes in New York.

  • My 4 door sports car!!

Never owned a Cadillac before but I'm glad I happened on the CTS. The turbo 4 motor is very aggressive with no turbo lag. And black is by far the best color and makes the car look sleeker. I get stares and thumbs up a lot. On sunny days I can't make up my mind whether to drive the CTS or my Corvette Zo6!!

  • Great car BUT be aware of transmission issues

This is my dream car ... Almost. I rented one for a 3 week driving trip and fell in love with the CTS. It has power, great handling, power, comfort, power, great features, power, good gas mileage, and oh yeah, power. It's a grown up sports car. Within the first week I noticed a little tremor in the transmission at low RPMs. Started researching and found that GM has a widespread problem with the torque converter in their 8- speed transmission ... An otherwise wonderful tranny. I'm under warranty and have been pushing the issue with the dealer. They've been wonderful, changing out tranny fluid and then replacing the torque converter. Not sure the issue is resolved. Just surprised with all my web searching before investing $27k I never saw any info about this issue. Be informed ... Check it out before you buy.

Issues with electronics. Dash board screen freezes up. Cadillac wants $1200 for new one. Transmission sluggish when cold. Dealer says nothing wrong. Rattle in rear no one can seem to figure out why.
