Because of rising gas prices I traded in my 07 Silverado 4x4 6.0L. November 09. I hated to give up that truck but 10 mpg was just too expensive. I researched and didn't want another vehicle that felt like a truck when I drove it. Firm and steady is one thing but abrupt bumps in the road is another. The Enclave looked promising & I already owned a 4Runner before & didn't want a Highlander Seqouia or a Taho or Suburban because I did want to save gas. The GMC Arcadia & Terrain had traditional SUV styling. I finally test drove the Toyota Venza & liked its styling but it had hardly any room to haul anything beyond a couple of overnight luggage bags. In addition, the local dealers were not offering any discounts at that time. After driving the Venza I researched again & narrowed the features I wanted namely better gas mileage (between 15-25 mpg), a lot of room to haul things (almost as roomy as my Silverado's short bed), a 6 speed Transmission, a V-6, & the top of the line or close model in order to get all factory-installed options because experience has taught me they cost more after market. One drive in the Traverse LTZ made up my mind. It is peppy for a mid size vehicle. The Bose Stereo System is nice & I like the instrument panel layout. The leather seats are comfortable & I have 2nd row captain's seats. It came with the double sky scape, the backup sensors & remote start & tailgate lift. The navigation & tow package are the only things I didn't get. Onstar was a big selling point for me because you can't beat it if you get lost or need quick directions. I've used it 4 times & it has never let me down yet. One peculiar feature I initially found on the Traverse odd was the placement of the battery. It was not under the hood but in the floor behind the passenger's seat. I was informed by my service person at the dealership that it saves room under the hood & is not exposed to extremes of heat & cold. Oh well something new! By the way it does have bluetooth & a usb port for your ipod and a headphone jack for several other mp3 players. I have a Weather Tech mat with a lip covering the inside rear area. I am very happy with my Traverse!!! I loved my Silverado but it cost too much to drive & the new Traverse fills my needs & it looks good to me (Black Granite & 20 inch wheels).

Traded in my 07 H3 Hummer. I needed something with more seating and can haul a 20 ft aluminum boat and the Traverse is it! When towing the boat you don't even know it's there, it doesn't hesitate or bog down and rev up the RPM. My kids are teenagers and have no issues in the second or third row. I did add mini round mirrors just as an extra for backing up and such. I found the ride very comfortable as well as the kids with the second and third row. The ride is great, don't hear alot of road noise and runs real smooth. There is alot of storage and cargo space. Great pick up and go! The mileage is not exactly what I expected but is pretty good for the size of this car. You do have a little bit of rolling back on some big hills, again this is typical for larger SUvs.

Ups:Love the silent, smooth ride both city and highway. INCREDIBLE handling and response for the vehicle size. Beautiful, stylish exterior design. Lots of space and storage compartments. Nicest visual impact on any family car we've had. Goodbye to minivans forever. The Onstar system with integrated hands free phone is really cool (but costs extra after 6 months trial). Really gives over 25mpg on highway. Downs: Purchased the LS base trim, and had to accept not so nice interior upholstery, steering wheel not wrapped in leather (wished it had at least a more ergonomic grip). The mechanism to move second row seats to access back row is less than nice and smooth. City mpg is 13 to 14, not so good, but understandable for the car size. Overall, good value for the money. I'm happy with the purchase as I was able to negotiate a nice deal. The savings are worth the things I gave up on luxury in interior details.

I purchased the Traverse because I wanted an AWD with comfort and towing capability. Although it doesn't get near the gas mileage they put on the sticker, it's a very comfortable ride, quiet and a fair MPG which is averaging 21 MGP at this time. I traded in a crossover which I loved, but it wasn't as good with traction as it should have been. This AWD Traverse hasn't been stopped by the many feet of snow we had this season. Haven't towed yet, but like the capablity as I'm sure I will in the near future. Someone looking for a comfortable ride, fair mileage and smart looking crossover - this is the car. I'll keep this car longer than my usual 4 years.

Did not want to do a minivan, so looked at the Traverse. I am totally pleased. Had to get used to blind spots, coming from a Camry. I love this car. Ride is good, fuel not bad at all for a large vehicle. Some tire noises on highway. Not real quiet, but I have not experienced anything that would stop me from getting another. I would get remote door lift and sunroof. Now I can take all my grands to the park, and still be "cool"

Very good alternative to minivan. Stylish, plenty of room, smooth ride and engine power. The front, middle and 3rd row seats provide plenty of leg and head room The dash and console layout are a little dated but very functional. Love the Onstar system that came with 3 months free and is a montly charge after that in which we plan to keep. Overall very please with the car.
