Two complete AC failures on a 2019 Honda Civic Sport

Two complete AC failures on a 2019 Honda Civic Sport Touring. Horrible customer service and refusal to replace extended warranty parts unless I pay $2,300. First complete AC failure was mid 2020, just months after my purchase and much hassle going back and forth to the dealership. They finally admitted the AC needed a full replacement. During this first experience I was lied to multiple times about when the repairs would be completed and what was wrong with the car. Now in 2026, three separate leaks to different AC components. All three leaks are attributed to known issues with the AC systems of this gen Honda Civic, but only two are covered under extended warranty coverage bulletins 19-091 and 23-039. Honda wants $2,300 to replace the leak not covered (EV Core) despite Honda Corporate acknowledging its a known issue. Unless I pay to get this costly 3rd leak repaired, they refuse to do the warrantied repairs, basically holding the warranty repairs hostage because the other known issue isn’t covered. I also told them my car has ONLY been serviced at Honda and I paid an extra $2,000 for their better coverage…no dice. There are posts online of other people getting basically scammed into this same costly repair just so they can get warrantied work done. This is not an isolated case, nor is it something they haven’t dealt with before. I went back and forth with both the dealership for over a week and Honda corporate for around three weeks, but they refuse to help at all. Again, despite this being a known issue and the fact they redid my AC with most likely the same xxxx AC system in mid 2020. Their excuse is the mileage, I'm at around 125,000 miles. Honda is totally fine with two full AC system failures if your car is at 125,000 miles. Seems it's about what they expect. Keep in mind in mid 2020 my AC system was fully replaced, so the new AC system had less than 90k miles on it. If you want a reliable car and good customer service, Honda is no longer the place to look for it. Two complete AC failures on a car from 2019 made by a supposedly “reliable brand” is ridiculous. Refusing to comp even the labor to fix issues caused by parts they acknowledge have issues is NOT customer focused.

We leased a 2019 civic hatchback ex and loved it so much

We leased a 2019 civic hatchback ex and loved it so much we bought out the lease three years later. The best feature that’s unique to these cars is the Lane Watch Blind Spot camera (available on the EX, SI and I believe touring models) I don’t know why they went away from this feature with the 2022+ models. Add all the sensors you want but the camera is better than anything else. I thought it would become standard on more cars, not get phased out. Besides that, the true city gas mileage is closer to 24 than 30, but highway is about 40 and mixed is 29. Very good for an all gas car. We had very few problems in the 6 years we drove it. Only thing we had to replace was the infotainment system— covered by the extended warranty. If it wasn’t for some dumb teens speeding through an intersection and taking us out in the turn lane, it should have lasted another good ten years if not more. This version of the civic is a great little car.

Just bought the Honda Civic 2020 Sport Coupe and I’m

Just bought the Honda Civic 2020 Sport Coupe and I’m really happy with it. The car looks sharp, drives smoothly, and has enough power to make daily driving fun without sacrificing fuel economy. Interior is comfortable and modern, with all the tech I need. Overall, a great blend of sporty looks, efficiency, and reliability. I would Highly recommend this car.

My 2019 Civic's AC is not cooling.

My 2019 Civic's AC is not cooling. I've called dealer and they told me that the compressor shaft and condenser is under warranty and they charge me $400.00 plus tax to doagnose it. I'm very disappointed with the quality and reliabilities of this car and never had issues with AC with any car I had before like this.

I HAVE LOVED OWNING AND DRIVING MY HONDA CIVICS!

I have had three Honda Civics, and plan to buy another in the spring. They are the best vehicles I have owned during my 84 years.

Efficient but not overly styled

Purchased the Civic LX Sedan for mileage and as a commuter car. Overall the basic safety features and mileage are great. Basic interior is a sacrifice.

May be new modes are better

Driver’ seat is very low and it’s not adjustable for height. It’s really not comfortable for long drive. Very tiring driving. Brand is great but Honda dealers also very rip off and they charge extra fees and high interest loans. Honda dealers are not honest.

First time Honda Buyer!

First time owning a Honda and it has been a pleasure. Handles wonderfully, great on gas. I had a choice between this and a new Accord but I have way more features on my Civic and it’s big enough for me (I rarely have passengers).
