  • Great Design

I used to own the 2017 BMW X5. The Discovery has much better interior design. So much more spacious than the X5. The second row really is comfortable, has tons of leg room. The X5 second row was more cramped. The media set up is more complicated. With the X5 I always had to worry about tires blowing on potholes (which they did a lot!) This car is sturdy and I am about to cancel the tire insurance. Pick up on the X5 was better but overall, for the Discovery is a better value and a really decent car.

  • Luxurious but Affordable

The vehicle is so beautiful and was well cared for. My only negative comment would be there are no arm rests on the front seats and makes it challenging to drive for a long duration of time. I did realize the console slides forward to accommodate the right arm so that's helpful!

  • Biggest mistake i made

Car has seen 2 different LR service dealers and no one seems to admit the issue concerning the vibration on steering column and cabin. Tires replaced by the dealer per their recommendations, all wheels balanced, aligned, rotated and still feel the issue. Research done on my own seem to lead the issue to be the drive shaft not balanced or defective, but i don't believe either dealer ( selling or local) are willing to admit it or repair it. Car barely has 15k miles on it and i'm losing my patience. DON'T BUY THESE CARS.

  • Ain't a luxury SUV

Although this car ranks as a luxury SUV and costs close to $50K with some options, this is not a luxury SUV in my opinion. I have owned this car for about 10 months now and the biggest issue that I have is the transmission - it is very jerky; it is so jerky that the passenger sitting next to me also felt it. I have taken it to the dealership many times, but to no avail. The other issue with the car is that the inside technology seems dated. The GPS looks and feels archaic and is full of bugs. I am not happy with the user interface of the systems either. Lastly, the gas mileage is not that good. I am getting about 11 - 14 mpg during city driving. I can get it up to about 25 on highway.
