Full article

What Is the 2019 Lexus RX?

The Lexus RX mid-size luxury SUV is available in gas RX 350 or hybrid RX 450h form. There’s also a performance-oriented F Sport model and extended three-row L versions. All use a 3.5-liter V-6 engine, and the RX 450h adds electric motors. The RX 350 is available with front- or all-wheel drive, and the RX 450h is all-wheel-drive only with an electric motor driving the rear wheels. Competitors include the Cadillac XT5 , Acura MDX and Infiniti QX60.

What’s New on the 2019 Lexus RX?

The RX’s remote function adds smart watch and Amazon Alexa device compatibility.

What Features in the 2019 Lexus RX Are Most Important?

The standard Lexus Safety System Plus includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control. The RX 450h’s fuel-saving hybrid drivetrain achieves 30 mpg combined in EPA testing.

Should I Buy the 2019 Lexus RX?

Often credited with creating the luxury crossover SUV class, the Lexus RX continues to please buyers looking for refinement. However, our editors find it less engaging to drive than some competitors and are continually frustrated with its optional Remote Touch multimedia interface.  The cramped third-row seat in extended L versions is of dubious usefulness, too.

  • Love Lexus

I bought this vehicle as I'd had a Toyota Highlander Hybrid for years and it was the best vehicle we've had (have had Ford, Dodge, Chrysler, GM, BMW) for reliability. The Lexus fit the bill, luxurious, good pickup, comfortable, lots of tech that I love. The exterior design is sporty and it doesn't look like a round blob or a box like many SUV's do. The L version has enough room to travel with two large dogs and their crates. The gas mileage is a big plus for me - so far getting 27-29 mpg.

  • Face Lift from regular Toyota Car

the doors are hollow and have cheap sound when you close them. All the upgraded features to look luxury are dated...... like a little compartment for cell phone is too small (it might work back to 2014 when I had the same model car) the navigation system is way too old that the dealer even recommended me to install a Cell Phone Clip to utilize my google map. and the feature like Voice Recognition is the worst, it always came back like, "I don't understand you. or Can you speak louder, softer or slowly." then want me to connected to Navigation Assistance which is another Money making a machine for Lexus. Car Seats are cheaply formed so very uncomfortable. the extra length of this car doesn't really fit all the luggage I want(which my ML500 does better job and luxury feeling)

  • Unhappy

Suffering a bit of buyers remorse. After much research and soul searching, I settled on a RX450hl. Primary reason: hybrid/gas mileage. I am now getting approx. 21 mpg. That is BELOW any regular engine auto I test drove. Ugh. Should have bought the Subaru.

  • Most comfortable and safest car I have owned

This car filled all of the water and comfort requirements for both my wife and me. Since we have a large family, we can safely transport our grandchildren to many activities. The car is also the quietest vehicle we have ever driven. We are very pleased with this purchase!

  • RX450HL

Love that this car is roomier and still has significant trunk space. Last row is very narrow but okay for kids. The features are amazing. My salesperson Tony was great. Very patient.

  • Excellent Example of the Lexus Product Line-up

What an absolute pleasure to drive this car. I've driven many vehicles over my lifetime, and this exceeds all of the previous experiences. I'm not sure where Lexus will improve or enhance their vehicles in the future, but they continue amaze me with not only the vehicle itself, but the caliber of the dealership experience. Simply put: "Best Ever!"
