Explore the 2002 Saturn SL

Amazed with the quality and durability.

I have sl2 2002, 120000 km on it and running smooth. Best car, if compare to other sedan from 2002. This car sparks each car wash, still a clean and no rust. I changed many parts of course which is completely normal to give any car long life. I use only Mobile 1 syn oil and filter, change every 5 months. If you want to make it run like new, i suggest, change your spark plugs and cable. Change air filter at least once a year. This car is very easy to maintain. I will continue using it until my kids ask if they can have it. Everything still functions. Good sound system.

Great car.

Bought a 2002sl2 from a small dealer in Rio Linda. I got a good price on it. Had a water leak that turned out to be the intake manifold. Plastic. Whoever had this car took very good care of it. Interior is immaculate. Only 137,000 miles on it. Not bad for 20 years old. Beautiful white color with cloth interior. Factory wheels. Great on gas. I'm very happy with it. I have a great mechanic that really knows his stuff. Parts r still plentiful too. It's a little fast to get me out of traffic jams and butt head drivers. It's a great car. Also it's loaded with extras.

A KEEPER...

Purchased NEW 2002. 5 speed manual...STILL on orig clutch at 168,000 miles. At 20 yrs plus, it is now my RAT ride... "Round About Town" ride. Do not push it much anymore...give the little guy a break. Everything is great...usual maintenance, tires, etc. I do keep oil in the trunk, as these babies love to drink...LOLOL. At 200,000 or Silver Anniv, I will have it "restored"...head liner damaged due to moon roof leak...some rust on rear door sills. Other than that, a joy to have. Radio & clock STILL work...LOL. I will be the caretaker of the RAT until I give to one of my grandsons...All enjoy your ride :-)>

Best car I've ever owned!

It's 2021 now, so it's like 19 years old and no serious problems at all. I totally love my 'Silver Bullet' as I've nicknamed it and wouldn't trade it for another car. I've had a Cadillac that I couldn't afford to fix and a hog of a convertible, but this Saturn is truly the best of them all. It's reliable, economical, comfortable and even passes well on the highway. Plenty of room for passengers and in the trunk. Two thumbs up. I give it a 5 out of 5.

Great little car.

For someone under 6 foot it's perfect. I am not. Got it for free. Runs good, great on gas. I use it for work and quick runs to the store.

Good little car

Good fuel economy, reliable. The plastic body panels are great since they don't rust. Wish they would never have stopped making these cars. Overall it has been a good car.

Best car I have bought

This car met my everyday use. I have had it now for 17 years and is still running great. It is starting to cost me for issues now but for a 17 year old car it basically still has all orginal parts. But over all this car was loved. I had a Sunroof put in when I purchased it and that still works but the headliner was cut and the cover was glued on to a piece of paneling, which is now ripped off cause of flying around. (Smoking did not help cause it just ripped with a finger.) I'm planning on getting a new headliner and having it professionally installed. Like I said besides the minor issues this car serves its purpose. I never had a car last me this long..great car for the price I paid!

Would recommend in a heartbeat!

I cannot say enough good things about my Saturn. A friend recommended Saturn when I was looking for a vehicle back in 2012. She had a Saturn that got 311,000 before she retired it. I bought my 2002 Saturn SL1 with 19,000 miles in great condition. Very reliable, comfortable to drive on long trips and inexpensive to repair. I only had minor issues. We lost the Saturn in February 2019 when a woman blew a stop sign and we plowed into her at 40mph head first into the side of her vehicle. The airbags went off on both sides and all damage was contained to the front. I was able to open my door and walk away with my daughter. No injuries past just bruises and muscle soreness. This was my first accident ever and I can say without hesitation that my Saturn performed like a champ. I would not hesitate in recommending the Saturn or buying another one with low miles. They are a great car!
