  • 1992 volvo 240 simply the best!

I bought it in 1996 and 65000km on the clock. The engine is B200F and M47 the shift. Nivomat sunspension, ABS, LSD, LPG, cruise control, leather interiors, power mirror, power Windows...it still my daily car and i drive it 15000km every year without problem. Very comfortable, we are 4 people in family, the speed limit here in Italy are: 50km/h in urban place, 70/90 km/h in freeway and 110/130km/h on highway...so my Volvo could reach (and pass) every speed limit. The gas here is expensive but with LPG you could spend at least a half ; 2021 1liter gas 98 = 1,60€ 2021 1 literLPG= 0,65€ And i cover 10km pro liter...

  • Reliable, economical, safe and versatile

I’ve owned my 1993 245 estate for 20 years. It just keeps going with regular inexpensive maintenance. You can maintain yourself too as it is straightforward. It is particularly good for a holiday or road trip because it’s has heaps of room and due to its long wheelbase and solid build is very comfortable. It never goes out of tune cos it has fuel injection. The retro style gets lots of positive interest and people asking if I want to sell it. Values of these are now rising.

  • Classy

Volvos are a great autos. I have been driving them for 56 years with four different models. They have served my purposes in the Colorado mountains and always seem to get me through. Now I own the classiest model they ever made - 1993 Volvo 240 Wagon - Classic.

  • YOU CANT KILL THEM!

The Volvo 240 is a classic example of European ingenuity. You aren?t buying this car for speed, or for show. The 240 is 100% reliable and is built VERY strong. It was designed for safety, and it was designed for reliability. Volvo?s crash ratings received highest marks for the 1993 240 model.

  • A Car With A Soul??

I bought this s car new in '93. It is now 2017. This car has seen me through snow storms in Pa, ice storms in New Hampshire, Carolina hurricanes, below zero cold snaps and fierce summer cloudbursts...This car has NEVER left me stranded. Great car, still looks good. He's in semi retirement, as I have a new truck now... But I'll always love my 240...

  • Great Solid Little Car

I own 2 older model Volvos. I own a 1988 240DL. I bought it used. Today, it has 567,000 miles on it. Original paint is beautiful. The car is very solid. Interior is excellant. My main complaint, is the fact that it does not have any cup holders, or much room to place things. It does not have a lot of power, but is very very dependable. The new Volvos are nowhere near as good as this car.

  • Sturdy and dependable - that's how Betsy rolls

If you want sturdy, reliable, value retention and don't mind trading all that for minimal comfort & less pep - GREAT car! If you want hot rodding in total plush interior comfort, keep shoppin'. We bought this car to tote kids to & from school and errands around town. Be sure and check that your kids' car seats work in the car before you buy! New locking seatbelts can be installed, but that adds to your initial cost. Because of kid car seat issues, my husband mainly drives the car to work. This car does not have a lot of pep for entering the highways, so it's really best for around town driving. He's also tall, so he's not very comfortable with the legroom and seats. I'm short, so it's fine for me. I'm the frugal one in our family who loves these Volvos, so I don't mind that it's not a particularly plush comfy car. The interior and ride feels a lot like my Jeep Wrangler (1999), and it drives and handles similar to my Wrangler, minus the height and power the jeep had. It does not have a well-lit interior, so I keep a tiny flashlight handy. There are also no cup holders or many places to put stuff. But to me, those comforts were worth trading for dependability and value, as these cars are becoming more and more collectible now. I don't care for the newer Volvos (poor reliability), but these old 240's are overall a fun little car to drive. The 1993 was the last year of the 240, so we felt lucky to find Betsy. I would buy one again, but my husband says he would not.
