2024 GMC Yukon review
Purchased new in October 2024. Total miles driven 9,276. Just completed a 4,734.2 mile trip through 9 states. Just a pleasure to drive. My wife and I were on the road 16 days, with only 8 driving days, longest day was 674 miles. Average driving speed was about 72+ miles per hour. Seat comfort was amazing, no discomfort, great considering having 4 back surgeries. Very solid on the road with little or no driving fatigue. Performance was great. Of the total miles, about 500 were in town driving and 300 miles was in 4x4 in a snow storm coming across Northern Texas in April. Average MPG was 26.4 with my best 500mile drive at 33mpg. The diesel engine is very quiet requiring me to check the tach sometimes to be sure I had pressed the off button. Very quiet on the road as well. This is my first diesel and I would highly recommend it. Plenty of power, great fuel economy, quiet and very responsive when you need that quick acceleration. amazingly nimble for a big SUV. The adaptive cruise works great. My previous GMC was a 2009, 6.2L V8 Yukon XL. I drove that one 140K miles over 14 years with nothing but routine maintenance, a great vehicle as well. There’s a lot I could say about this car buying experience but I don’t want to take away from my real point of leaving this review. Jordan Campbell is likely the best car salesman I have ever worked with. He truly makes himself available 24/7 and sincerely cares about you as a customer/person. He has never once made me feel like an inconvenience. He answers any and all of my questions, and if he doesn’t know the answer, he figures it out quick and always keeps me in the loop. He’s made himself available to me on his days off and even when he’s been out of town. Regardless what happened during this car buying experience, I want Hunter Subaru to know how lucky they are to have him working at their establishment. I can’t say enough good things about him. Even with all of the things that have happened during my experience, I’m still recommending this place because Jordan deserves that. Go see him!
2023 Volvo XC90 Recharge Plug-In Hybrid review
This is a beautiful car. Our car is the mid level. Not totally sure it is as luxurious as it's price point. Drives and feels very nice. Feels nimble and safe. Visibility all around is great. Safety features such as the pacing cruise control and lane management are excellent. The gage cluster is minimal with a lot of empty space where they should have put a real fuel gage, not the miniscule 4 dashes that go unlit as the fuel is used. The car has no written user manual. It relies on a very limited one on board which cannot be accessed when the car is moving. Hybrid system is not immediately understood how to make it perform well. Bu once you solve that puzzle it is really good. We found a complete 900 page one on line that goes into the detail we wanted. Also the on board one does not have an index so you get to hunt and guess to find what topic your question is under. This was a major frustration for us. The back seats are very firm, which was surprising at this price point. That is why I knocked the comfort level down. Front seats are wonderful. Lots of rear leg room though. There is a lot of room behind the second row seats when the 3rd row is down, and this suits our travel cargo needs very well. 360 camera is excellent. Fit and finish is superb. The turn signal stalk has too many functions such as head light control. A switch on the dash would be much better easily showing which mode the headlights are in. The various functions are not as intuitive to control or find. There is a learning curve, not a difficult curve, but just jumping into drive it might be the wrong approach. Perhaps it is standard Volvo like not standard BMW like as we were used to. Now that we know the car better we would buy it again.

2020 Toyota RAV4 review
I've had my 2020 rav4 le for several months & bought it used with 1 owner. Absolutely love it. Only complaint is 2 tiny copper clips fell out of drivers side mirror & now whenever I go to the carwash, the mirror buckles all the way fwd, then all the way backwards. It's a common problem. Other than that, beautiful car inside/out.

I love my ST all except for seating. I’m just not a fan of European style seating soo we had an upholstery shop up grade them. Sooo much fun to drive! Great gas mileage considering I’m a lead foot. And when needed you can put a full 4x8 sheet of plywood in the back.

2019 Lexus RX 350 review
This is my second RX and I’m so happy with the first, I need to get one again. The size is right for a woman, not to high nor low. Perfect for young and the old. I would have opted for the 2021 model if I’m not retired. The salesperson gave us a great deal we can’t refuse. This car will definitely take me to many places in style, comfort and value.

2023 GMC Acadia review
I have owned my Acadia just under one year. It is quiet, stylish, has an easy and very effective infotainment system, owns five star safety and shows every indication of being as reliable as the Yukon I owned for 20 years. This Suv will go to 60 mph in about 6.0 seconds flat. It has 20 inch wheels and tires and will turn better and stop faster than most every Suv. I have front and rear heated seats, cooled seats, a sunroof, memory settings and this is only an SLT. My gas mileage routinely exceeds EPA (with AWD). Driving from Milwaukee to Chicago, I averaged 29.8 MPG at 75 mph. EPA is 26 MPG at 65 mph. I truly LOVE that Car and Driver rates this SUV near the bottom. Better for me. I have the Home Run. The OWNERS of the GMC Acadia rate this SUV higher than Highlander Palisade, Explorer, Telluride and all the rest. Count me among them. FYI, not a GM employee, just a happy customer.

2022 Ford Mustang review
After a negligent driver rear-ended my other car, I bought a 2022 Mustang GT Premium with the insurance money. I had a 1979 Mustang Cobra years ago and loved it. This is a great car, too. Fast, comfortable and beautiful. I haven't driven it in snow yet and have some trepidation about that but otherwise I'm glad I bought it. There are only three things I don't like: the car payment (who does?), the gas mileage, although I can get 30 mpg if I drive 58 mph, and there seems to be some high school kid at every stoplight who wants to race. This is definitely a car worth buying if you're an empty-nester, going through your mid-life crisis or single and don't have to haul much in your trunk.

2024 Toyota Tacoma review
For a non full size pickup it seems pricey, but then again full size truck prices are ridiculous. The interior is really nice, spacious and well built. The truck handles incredibly well, and the 4 cylinder turbo has plenty of power. I was impressed with it's 6,000+ towing power. The exterior is mean looking and looks great heading down the road. I bought a SR model because I need a truck, not something full of options. The only downside is the box is smaller and holds a lot less than a full size and the Toyota sense safety is a bit much. I know it's there for a reason but it can be confusing.

So I'm driving it for 8 months, so I can get what I really want and need a truck.

2021 Mazda CX-5 review
The only issue I have had was the code P0126 having to do with the thermostat. This is common for this car. I was 170 miles from home when it happened. I talked to a Mazda dealer and they said I could drive it home, which I did and made an appointment with the dealer to have it fixed. It has not happened again. I am very happy with this car!

2020 Toyota Corolla Hatchback review

2017 Volkswagen Golf review
I bought my golf new at the end of 2016 and would have kept it much longer if it had not been totaled in an accident. The few little issues I had were covered under the initial warranty (coolant leak, trunk leak). Nothing else other than normal maintenance things like brakes and tires up to 81,000 - that's as far as I can speak to. I took good care of it, did the VW service things for the most part and I have no doubt it would have lasted to 200K or beyond. It looked cool and was fun to drive. I had the S manual. I enjoy driving and had a tiny regret about not getting the Wolfsburg edition (faster engine, slightly better options like heated seats and sun/moon roof).
