2016 Ford Explorer Sport review
Great SUV, NOISY inside. Get ext. Warranty!
2016 Platinum. Nice SUV, comfortable, very powerful, decent fuel economy, fair build quality, but there are some things to be aware of; the AWD models have a PTU (power transfer unit) which sends power to the rear wheels. It is positioned very close to the exhaust, and the heat generated by the turbochargers literally cooks the gear oil in the PTU, causing it to fail. The unit only holds about a quart of oil, and is NOT serviced or checked, even when you have the vehicle serviced at the dealer. We had trouble with the front camera, and the recirculation actuator on the climate control. If you are considering a used Explorer, I highly recommend buying the best warranty you can! The only complaint I have is the road noise. On new pavement, it's quiet, but on all other roads it's VERY loud inside!

I dropped off my car at 1:45 p.m., ahead of my scheduled appointment, and received a text at 3:15 p.m. that my car was ready. This was a huge improvement compared to my last visit, when I waited over 5 hours for an express oil change. Samuel service advisor was fantastic, and Martin was wonderful. He made sure I was connected with my service advisor, and once my car was ready, he delivered it to me within just a few minutes. Overall, I had excellent service—much better than my past experiences.
