2025 Honda Civic review
I traded in a 2017 Honda CR-V Touring because it was going to to cost more to fix the major issues (as a second owner I did not know the CR-V had that many things wrong). I put money down on the Civic Sport that I was going to use for the repairs. I do have to say it's a nice car and I hope it will last longer than I expect. That being said I didn't want to buy another Honda but I did go to a dealership that I trust more than anybody else. I will come back and further my review once I have 5,000 miles on it.

2024 Kia Soul review
This is the second Soul I've owned. The first one was a 2022 LX model and had some problems with the idle stop/start feature. It took 5 trips to the dealer before the issue was resolved. The 2024 LX model I recently purchased is roomy and has a number of standard features that are extra-cost on most other vehicles. The engine provides a lot of pep considering it's only 2.0 liter and non-turbo. The ride is a bit rough--not sure if that's inherent with the car or due to the lousy roads where I live. At any rate, I'm a very satisfied customer!

2014 Honda CR-Z review
Like the Insight, the model it followed, the CR-Z has been discontinued. It's a shame because both the Insight and CR-V were ideal vehicles for someone who want a really compact car and two seats. We've driven both on long trips on the interstate and back roads with great mileage (better than EPA estimates) at 75mph on the interstate. Our Insight had almost 100,000 miles when we replaced it because of an accident with the CR-Z. The interior really cocoons the driver and passenger making it feel safe; the loe profile and great steering and ABS brakes make it highly manuverable and fun to drive. We hope Honda comes up with another 2-seater to suceed the CR-V.

2022 Nissan Leaf review
After owning many Nissan LEAFs over the years (Canadians kept buying them from me), the newer body style in 2018 release was a total winner. Better looking and the ride is definitely more refined, and our 2022 is flawless. These cars are the best kept secret in motoring. They are a HUGE value, and would be a great only car, but in almost all instances, the PERFECT second vehicle. They cost almost nothing to drive and maintain, and the insurance is also very reasonable.

2020 Toyota Prius review
The seats are comfortable. It is a very reliable car. I had a 2012 and I got this one during the pandemic - before everyone went crazy overpaying! I was surprised and happy to discover that mine has a heated steering wheel - there was only 1 available that had 2400 miles (it was used as a loaner). The 1 complaint I have is that it is VERY noisy and you hear the traffic (I drive on a major tollway a lot). I am seriously thinking of getting another car because of this. Apple play is glitchy, but would not do without it. So overall I would recommend it.

2023 Volkswagen Golf GTI review
Volkswagen did a great job refining the MK8 GTI. Key points -One of the best handling FWD cars mainly due to the LSD, XDS and suspension refinement. -Very smooth power deliver almost 0 turbo lag. - 40th anniversary has to be the best value purchase as it comes standard with DCC and IQ lightings which are only available on the highest trim. The negatives include: -The infotainment can be improved wireless android and apple car play need to be standard. Can't set your phone properly on the wireless charger when the phone is attached to the wire. - Compared to the MK7 the coin holder and the sliding storage below the driver sear is missing. -Unable to disable auto start and stop feature permanently as restores to default on every time you start the vehicle.

2010 Honda Insight review
Purchased for my wife's 80 + mile daily commute. She drove it daily for over 10 and a half years. All maintenance done by the Honda Dealer in Saratoga Springs, NY Great service, by the way. A very trouble free car. She decided to purchase a new CRV earlier this year. I now drive the Insight for my daily 40 mile commute. I average 58MPG, as I drive it very easy and avoid the interstate. It now has 228,000 miles and still going strong! I highly recommend this if you don't mind its lower performance but it pays back in great gas mileage. I fill up every 14 to 16 days for less than $18.00. Can't say enough about how good of a car this is. My son is turning 16, in a few months. This will be his 1 car. I am looking for another one for myself.

2016 Hyundai Accent review
In late 2015 I ordered and bought a 2016 Hyundai accent. I was looking for a car under $20,000 CAD that would suit my purposes and that would be safe enough for my teenaged kids to learn and drive. The dealer experience was not what I would call a positive one. As this is about the car I will not go into detail here. The look of the little 2016 accent hatchback is really a 8/10. Put on some cheap fun stripes and you’ll be getting second looks; 9/10 then. Other body styles for the Accent are well…meh. Now the car itself is cheap to buy, and built cheaply. There is no doubt about that. There is an awful lot of road noise, there is usually some body part rattle, the torque is laughable, but again—it is cheap. I call this a Meccano car. Why? Because replacing parts is as easy as a Meccano set. And you WILL need to learn how to do this. This car gets no respect in parking lots; it’s constantly being dinged and hit by other cars. It has low clearance; road debris doesn’t go under the car— it cracks up all the plastic bits. Oh yeah, and the four or so fibre skid plates? Two disappeared within the first six months. One ripped off in a puddle during a rainstorm. However, because there’s so much plastic, and parts are easily available due to the car’s ubiquity, it’s fairly cheap to fix. This car can be insanely efficient. If you’re hypermiling, you can achieve 5.2 L per 100 km. I drive aggressively and get 6.2 or so. In town aggressive, will get you 7.4. My battery lasted six years before replacement. No complaints there. I take care of my car. I do most regular services on time. It’s been parked outside in Canadian prairie weather it’s entire life. It starts at -35C without the block heater plugged in. It’s insanely reliable and is just now displaying the first signs of rust from our heavily salted winter roads. Speaking of which– this thing is so light that you absolutely NEED winter tires up here, even if it is a front wheel drive or isn’t the law. While I would probably never buy a car like this used with 100000 km or more, I have been pretty happy with this thing. I like it better than my past Fords, Nissan, my four Chryslers, and even my Audi (based on price vs reliability). It was a good buy. I knew I was getting a cheap, disposable car. 2009 MINI Cooper S review
I've not driven it yet, but we investigated everything from the variable valve system to the turbo charger and watched a video of a complete teardown of the engine. 2009 Nissan Versa review
Owned car since new. Never had a problem with it. Normal repair items, brakes, muffler, Tires, battery over 16 years. Have best engine 1.8 and transmission 4 speed auto, avoid other transmission. 2012 Lexus CT 200h review
Bought brand new in October, 2012 and have 110,500 miles on it. Other than tire rotations and oil and filter changes, practically a maintenance-free car. Only maintenance has been replacing the starter battery (less than $300) after nine years and I have replaced either the front or rear shocks, can’t remember which. Brakes have never been touched and are still 50% and 60% good. Yeah, I get the new car itch occasionally but I remind myself that I likely wouldn’t be as fortunate with the next vehicle. Since I purchased it, I have averaged 43.3 mpg. Phenomenal given that I live in Los Angeles. Since I retired five years ago, each July I drive from CA to MI, and have driven as many as 1,200 miles a day (17 1/2 hours in the road) and found the seats to be very comfortable.

2016 Ford Fiesta review
I bought my 2016 SE from Bloomfield and for a small compact car the quality is equal if not better than a Honda Fit. The car has climate control, heated seats, rides nice and handles great compared to luxury sports cars I've owned yet 1/4 the price. I love it and feel it's made well. Motor has timing belt and wish they used the Duratec motor in here but it seems strong. My dual clutch transmission is great, it is not an automatic with valve body,they shift like bmw m6 and other sports car and it works absolutely normal.
