Used 1997 Honda Civic for sale near Kansas City, KS

I spotted a car I was interested in on Craigslist and came in to check it out. I was immediately presented with the CarFax and allowed to see the car. I live 2.5 hours away and was able to place a deposit and set up a day to finish the sale. My sales associate, Chase, was professional and responsive to emails. He had my paperwork ready to go when I arrived, and it was quick and easy (though I hope I'm not doomed to being hounded by the third-party extended warranty provider). I did not have an outside inspection done on my vehicle (the service records in the CarFax were pretty complete), but someone asked about having one done while I was there and it didn't seem to be a problem. I am happy with both my vehicle and the purchasing process.

My husband's Grandma passed this car down to us with 72,000 miles. She kept it in the garage its whole life and barely drove it. No rust, looks like it just pulled off the lot. It is crazy how much it gets to the gallon. We are getting rid of it because we are a family of 6 but definitely recommend. Great commute car.

After buying it for 500 bucks with 140,000 miles on it, I didn't even drive it for a couple months, just let it sit there in my driveway. Battery died on me but after a quick charge, it was rolling. Great car that don't expect to die out anytime soon. If you see one of these cars on the market at a low price don't hesitate to buy even if the mileage is breaking 200,000. I honestly expect these cars in a couple years to go up in value for the nostalgia effect.

Man... this car. This car got me through high school and college. bought it at 16 with $1500 in my pocket from a minimum wage job, 186,000 miles. 6 years later, with a total of 240,000 on it. I was too broke to properly maintain, drove it while it was overheating, bam, blown head gasket. Get this car with less than 200k miles and you’re golden for year if you take care of it. I think it the last 6 years I had maybe spent $1200-1500 on general repairs. Try to snag an EX or LX, my DX didn’t even come with AC. Best first car!!

Luther Hopkins Honda responded quickly to my cars.com request for info, had the car ready for a test drive and sold it for a fair price. Car was in excellent shape and the dealership made a used car looks and smell like new.

I am the original owner of a 1997 Honda Civic LX and have owned it for 23 years . OMG I just love this car. Both my kids drove it to college and graduated from college. The car is very good on gas and has 138531 miles on it at present. Since this car has been very reliable and very little maintenance was required I ended up upgrading to a Honda Accord. Honda's all the way.
