2022 Hyundai SANTA CRUZ review
We have a 2022 Limited with 24000 miles. It serves its purpose well with the ability to cary bark dust and as a daily driver. The creature comforts are very nice with the cooled seats and the heated steering wheel. is inexcusable that the top model has a manual passenger seat. The headlights are the worst I have ever driven with.

Raphael Tucker was amazing to work with while I was buying my car. From the first time he called to talk to me about the idea of buying a car he was professional, caring, and kind. Then when I was test driving cars and asking a million question he was patient and reassuring. By the end of the experience I had fun working with him and LOVED how Carmax takes care of people. I will forever be a Carmax buyer and I will totally be seeing Raphael Tucker again. Can't wait to tell everyone I know to go see Raphael Tucker.
2025 Hyundai SANTA CRUZ review
The 25 Santa Cruz Limited drives smoothy and very easily. The technology is very up to date and fast. It has a composed and steady ride. The turbo is strong and polished. The interior is very quiet and well designed. Excellent safety and driving assist features. I am very impressed with how well Hyundai has designed this car. It would be nice to have better city mileage and the rear sliding glass be powered. I am very happy with my Santa Cruz.

This was the best experience I have had at any car dealership. I highly recommend doing business with this dealership and salesman Joe!
2023 Hyundai SANTA CRUZ review
I really love my new truck...feel price was pretty much on the mark, the features are great, I have had it a month & still getting used to all its offeres. Back seat is a little tight, but I can fit and I don't really carry passengers, I did get an 'after market' bed cover for it ( which I feel I paid to much for the less than 100% quality) Over all I like the truck. (* I traded a 2021 jeep compass , which I thought 'per KBB' was worth more than the dealer allowed me) *

I was in the market for a newer smaller car and had searched everywhere. Seemed like no one could help me get in to my dream car. I finally decided I would try carmax and no regret whatsoever. They helped me find the exact car I wanted and the approval was fast and easy. Would reccomend to anyone shopping for a car.
2024 Hyundai SANTA CRUZ review
Had my night for 16 months, no problems, wicked fast with the turbo. Great combination of truck, suv and sports car. 25 mpg around town, over 30 on some highway trips. Comfortable ride with all the new stuff, phone projection, lane departure, driver assist, etc. Hyundai dealerships suck, I do most of the maintence myself.

2023 Hyundai SANTA CRUZ review
Good pick up truck over all but I would have some changes. 1st - Exterior. Front grill has too big opening spaces. It has potentially hazard to damage radiator with flying stones or debris get into it. Hyundai need to figure it out how to place electric plug for towing in the are next to license plate. I had to install under rear bumper and if i would have to put my boat in the water all the time, electric plug would submerge under the water and it would have it short it and potentially get on fire. 2- Interior. I believe sunroof 95% of the owners are not using it, instead i would like to have automatic window in the rear windshield instead of sunroof. Rear seats could be a inch shorter and it would gave a little more leg room to get in 3rd - Power train. I have SEL Premium trim with 2.5 Turbo engine AWD with 5K towing capacity. Excellent power train but would be nice to have hybrid or fully electric with same capacity.

Love my truck so much! It has plenty of leg room for my long legs! It drives smooth on long road trips! The back has been useful for moving large objects better than a SUV. It gives me both worlds truck and SUV feel. I highly recommend if you want a truck but the big ones are too much to handle!

2026 Hyundai SANTA CRUZ review
I purchased my 2026 Hyundai Santa Cruz SEL Activity with only 18 miles on the odometer and have driven it over 8,900 miles since May 9, 2026. After daily driving it in city conditions and taking it on longer highway trips, I can confidently say this vehicle delivers an excellent blend of SUV comfort and truck utility. The Santa Cruz was exactly what I was looking for. I needed something that offered more capability and cargo flexibility than my Tucson while still maintaining passenger comfort and everyday drivability. The SEL Activity trim comes with great features, including heated seats, lane assist, a sunroof, and comfortable second-row seating. The bed is spacious, and the factory Tonneau cover does an excellent job keeping anything I carry back there clean and dry. I also appreciated purchasing from a dealership that provided a dealer-backed warranty, giving me additional confidence in my ownership experience. The Santa Cruz provides a great balance of practicality, features, and peace of mind without needing to rely on a third-party warranty company. Driving performance has been excellent. The truck has plenty of power, and highway driving is where it really shines. It is extremely stable, comfortable, and quiet, with almost no noticeable cabin noise. Fuel economy has been impressive, averaging around 24–26 MPG during continuous daily city driving and reaching 36–38 MPG during longer highway trips. Handling is excellent, especially with the 18-inch tires, and the transmission provides plenty of torque for the terrain and conditions I regularly encounter. There have been a few minor issues. After an infotainment software update, the USB-C connection used for Android Auto/Apple CarPlay stopped working properly. Disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes temporarily fixes the issue until the vehicle is turned off again. The driver assistance system also has some quirks. Even on well-marked roads, the lane assistance can sometimes behave unpredictably, and I have noticed it occasionally tries to move right instead of staying centered when going through intersections. The biggest annoyance has been a rattle from the passenger-side headliner that has been present since I purchased the vehicle. It is especially noticeable on rough roads. The climate control system works very well with dual front controls and rear airflow, although occasionally the fan will completely stop for a few seconds before restarting. Overall, the 2026 Hyundai Santa Cruz SEL Activity has been an excellent vehicle. If you are looking for a truck-style vehicle with good towing capability, passenger space, storage, fuel economy, and modern features, I would absolutely recommend the Santa Cruz. It is unfortunate that 2026 is expected to be the final model year for the Santa Cruz because it fills a unique space in the market.

Kyle Garvin was a pleasure to deal with I found him to be very honest and straightforward. I shopped around before going to Shakers and glad I did. I’m loving my Santa Cruz and my only complaint is Hyundai should stop using the retractable cover as it’s prone to leaks

I traded my 2021 Santa Fe for the 2024 Santa Cruz as the exterior of the Santa Fe for 2024 to me was a turn off. Great decision, Santa Cruz is a pleasure to drive, great gas mileage and reliable. Only shortfall is the leaky bed cover. Dealer said it couldn't be fixed.

2025 Hyundai SANTA CRUZ review
I can't tell you how happy I am with this truck! In fact, out of all the new cars I've ever bought, this is my favorite. I wanted a truck, girlfriend wanted an SUV, then we found this and we both love it. Honestly, we were initially attracted to the styling -- it's a bad**s looking truck, and very unique. We love the way it drives, which is like a small performance SUV, and not at all truck-like. The interior is not plush, but very comfortable. The displays and controls aren't cluttered, with everything well designed and easy to find. It's packed with very useful features for an extremely reasonable price, and so far I haven't found anything I don't like.

Only have had it one month, just a couple negatives 1) Key fob very low quality, looks like a cheap plastic Easter egg. I have never had one this low quality. 2) The part that positions the seat belt buckle high or low is a “rubber band”, Never seen that. 3) The steering wheel should be a little wider on the top so you can view the screen/gages better. The ride is nice, Power is there when you want it.

Our 2023 SEL PREMIUM santa cruz has been a blast. Drives smooth/quiet. The bed with the factory sliding cover is perfect for tools and secure. I throw a tarp over the tools in heavy rain/snow because it's not totally water proof. The turbo is nice, mileage respectful.

Andrew with Benson Hyundai was the sales person who took care of me when I bought my new car. He provided excellent customer service, I would highly recommend he to any of my friends.
2023 Hyundai SANTA CRUZ review
I have had my 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz for two years now. It has 52,000 miles on it because I do Home Health for a living. It is not uncommon for me to put 30,000 miles a year on a vehicle. I am still riding on two of the original four tires the vehicle came with. Two tires had to be replaced roughly a year ago due to road debris. I purchased a monthly car wash club membership and 98% of the time after I wash it I use Meguires Quick Spray Wax to do a quick 10 minute wax on wipe off which keeps the paint job looking like new. I get oil changes roughly every 7500 miles although the dealership says that is too soon. With all the stopping and starting multiple times a day, I feel it necessary. I used up all my free oil changes in one year instead of two. I’ve had absolutely no issues with the vehicle. I am so glad I bought it. It rides and drives like an SUV but with the benefit of having the small 4 foot truck bed. It’s a perfect height and size. It is the standard four-cylinder engine which, once you get used to it, is not so bad. It has enough get up and go when needed, although if I would have been exposed to the turbo engine, I may have spent the extra money. It’s not uncommon for me to get 32 mpg on the freeway when my cruise control is set. One time driving slower than speed limit I got 39 mpg! I purchased a black SEL model. Sunroof does not leak and works just fine. I did take the dealership up on their offer to tint windows which has definitely made the vehicle cooler. Ability to clean the interior in the seats is relatively easy and does not take long for the seats to dry after using a upholstery cleaner for weekly light spot checks. The only things I would change would be the rims, and possibly put 20 inch tires instead of 18, and the stereo system. (And the color- It was supposed to be blue). The rims coming on the newer Santa Cruz’s have a much more desirable design, and I believe there is an upgraded stereo system available. Leather seats would be nice. 😊 I am frequently asked how I like my 23 Santa Cruz . I have owned over the years; Veloster, Santa Fe, and Accent. Them, along with a 1990 Suzuki Samurai and a 86’ Toy 4-Runner, were the best vehicles I have ever owned in my life. As long as I can keep it out of flood waters, or avoid approaching 90° turns on country roads in the middle of the night with no street lights, driving 45 miles an hour, this will be the last vehicle I own.
