2008 Jaguar XK review
If you are reading this you know the car is stunning to look at from virtually every angle. When searching to add a convertible to the fleet, this was not on my list. A MB SL550 would have been nice, but the maintenance costs are just too exorbitant for a seasonally-fun driver. Boxsters and Z4's were also contenders. What you don't know is how potent the XKR is on the road. It not only keeps up with my Audi 4.0l twin-turbo V8, it provides nearly the same comfort level. It slices through corners, just waiting to let the tail loose. Pay attention! Top-down motoring is a joy. There is minimal wind buffeting and you can carry on a conversation without raising your voice up to around 75mph. Over 75, who want to be talking anyway? Yes the touchscreen is a bit dated and not bright enough, but it is more intuitive than reviewers have given it credit for. I was able to easily learn the system in a few minutes. The glorious burble of the supercharged V8 gives you goose bumps. If it doesn't, go have fun in a Miata.

2008 Jaguar XK review
Bought the 2008 coupe with 68,000 miles in 2016. Indigo blue with metal flake, I felt it was a little over the top but it had a beautiful tan interior in perfect condition and burled wood dash. The car paint was damaged with I guess bird droppings the size of a quarter over the hood mostly. The dealer was a used car lot in Oceanside CA with some higher end cars and commercial trucks. I drove in on a Friday and expressed interest in the car, the salesman said why don’t you take it home for the weekend? So I did . Took it back to San Diego and since the Jag dealer there was open and luckily not busy I asked for them to check it our which they did. $225 later the dealer said it was good. Put up on the rack and had me go into the shop having the mechanic showing me underbody ( “has 8 years experience servicing XKs”). Having been a working stiff all my life I felt like I was the King of Norway with this very special treatment, as a teenager in 1968 there was a Jag dealer on Beach Blvd with two surf boards on top of my VW and sandy feet I walked into the dealer and saw Canary yellow XKE for about 11,000$. My 66 Bug cost me $1550 with 50$ a month payments. I think they humored me because we had our 17 year old girlfriends Bikini clad with us. Asked how much are the monthly payments, of course he said “ son most pay cash”. I now have 185,000 miles on my 2008 XK. Still runs great with the same engine and trans. At about 95,000 miles the trans seals started to leak. San Diego Jag agreed to fix the seals, went to two other Jag dealers who refused and would only install a new one or rebuilt. 750$ later I am out the door with that trans still going strong. Had problems with the AC drain pan leaking into the passenger side floor. The fix was to replace the drain with 3/4” drain assembly took several trips to the dealer for the final fix to work. The most aggravating has been the AM radio which I am told needs a 4000$ replacement of a modal. Siri XM works fine with the 5 disk player. Had have the car painted, hood and passenger side of the car. Oceanside certified Jaguar body shop. Had a bad door ding with the bird droppings, after 3 weeks I got the car. Afraid I would end up with a spotted leopard, it was perfect! My daily driver is so much fun driving thru Newport to my job every day. Getting raved by Ferraris another exotic cars occasionally just caps my day.

2008 Jaguar XK review
This is a sports convertible for adults. Who would have thought that I would be as comfortable sitting in and driving my Jag as I am my Mercedes S550? This is an extremely comfortable car to drive. Don't let the comfort fool you though, it is powerful, fast, agile and has a polite ROAR when you hard accelerate! Mine is black with a burgundy top, so it is unique too. I have not run across another on the road. On top of all this, I ADORE JAGUARS!!!! Well, up until the current owners. They look like every other car now. Thank you Aston Martin for the design! In short, I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!!!

Car is fully equipped with blue-tooth, hands-free, and does everything a new car does just about. I thoroughly enjoy driving this car since these are not on the road as much. Definitely a joy to have.
