Only problem , it started rusting second yr on trunk window area and trunk opening . Never have had that happen before . Never had a car ever do this

Parents bought the car new in 2010 and I bought it off them with 110k miles In 2018. I’ve since put 100k miles on it for work and it still runs like a new car. Only problem I have is poor gas mileage (250miles per tank on a long trip) and that’s probably due to 17” wheels and a straight pipe exhaust (sounds pretty decent tbh) I love this car and incase this engine goes I already have another one sitting at home in the basement. Only downside of the car is the manual gear box needs better gearing or at least a 6th gear

I drive this car for work 80 miles everyday. Currently at 68k miles. Absolutely no major mechanical issues. The little engine has a surprising amount of power, mated to its smooth shifting 6 speed automatic. I’m 6’1” and still fit “comfortably” inside. I did add a center console with armrest for more storage and comfort. My only complaints: -Door panels are hard plastic, not comfortable to rest your elbow. -Not much sound deadening in the car. A good set of tires is a must for a quiet ride. You hear everything. Overall this is an excellent commuter, spare car, or first car. Very reliable with great styling.

The other two gentlemen in the office were also very helpful in getting the vehicle ready for my taking delivery of it. This car is perfectly fine in every way I needed except for one minor fix that I would like to ask for future models, the car is just too low to the ground. I am no expert by any means, just use the car to get from point A to point B, and this car is perfect for me. Other than it being too low to the ground for my road situation in Oklahoma. I use it for main roads mostly, (even those can be rough at times) and I enjoy the freedom that the gas mileage gives me. I would recommend this to any first time or even competent understandering drivers who need a cheap reliable car for at least a few years. I had my first Kia for at least 8 years, and it was wrecked as some more elitist drivers would say "beyond repair," but it held up and it required minimum work and cost on my part at the time to keep it running. That'll do Kia, that'll do.

My husband and I bought this car to replace our 2003 Ford Focus. We were looking for a smaller car with good gas mileage to get him to and from work each day. This is a really nice compact car. It fits our child's large car seat in the back seat and the car seat still needs to be rear facing (a must for us). We were also looking at Ford Fiestas but the back seats were much smaller and didn't fit our needs. The Kia Rio had decent reviews rated a 4/5 overall. That is how I would also describe this car. It is not a car with a ton of bells and whistles but it is updated, gets great gas mileage and was a great upgrade from the older focus that we traded in. The 2017 Kia Rio that we purchased also has never had any recalls on it yet, so that was also a nice bonus. The back seat seams to feel larger than the backseat of our older focus so that is also a plus. If you are looking for a car that can get you too and from easily, good gas mileage, affordable, and a compact style car, the Kia Rio is a really nice option and one that I would recommend.
