BMW MINI of Shawnee Mission review
Group-One BMW made it easy for me accomplish some of my pre-winter automobile checks: oil & filter change, tire rotation, air pressure and fluid checks etc. They even sent me a little coupon help with the costs: nice!! The location is convenient, setting up an appointment was a cinch, folks at the dealership were professional, helpful and courteous. It?s a good place to do business!
2025 MINI Countryman review
I have had my Countryman S for about 7 months and 2000 miles (I have two other cars). It’s Chili Red with Petrol Blue interior. My favorite points are 1. The interior. If you love interesting fun interiors as I do then you will love it. If you try to avoid black interiors and exteriors you eliminate 90% of the cars other make. With Mini, you can get perhaps the most fun interiors anywhere and the Vescin seems comfortable enough. Just with they had ventilated seats. 2. Power, FINALLY Mini got a full BMW tune given you pay about the same price. It is plenty quick and I get 33-36mpg on the highway all the time. Drops much lower zooming around town. 3. Appearance and layout. I like the unique appearance, low roof line for kayaks and plenty of room for the kind of car it is. Negatives: 1. Electronics. Had several updates since I bought it and it has improved a lot but will take some getting used to. Use the favorites menu. Everything is pretty much forced onto the center screen. Sometimes Mini does things to be cute rather than practical. Rather than a start button it uses a flag toggle key you turn off and on like an old fashioned key. If you have to change cars like I do it’s confusing. 2. Center console. Basically, there is not one. There’s a little clam shaped compartment the size of a clutch purse. The armrest doesn’t open. Wasted potential. You will hate this if you are used to piling layers of stuff in a huge center console. Glove box is minimal, too. Neutral. 1. There’s no screen behind the wheel but there is a heads up display. Frankly, after awhile I don’t miss it at all. The heads up is excellent but it takes a little getting used to. 2. Suspension is a bit stiff like all Mini’s. Makes it sporty but trade off is feeling most road imperfections. It does take the top off bumps well but it’s a trade off. In summary, the reliability has been good AFTER the electronics updates and most things work well. It is just so fun to drive and look at inside and out that really I am not sure what I’d rather drive. You might cross shop the BMW X1 and see which works better for you. You cannot beat Mini interiors though for just pure fun and the driving matches on what is a practical Mini for a family. Oh, I got it to tow a camper but I have yet to do that. That is a great new addition in my book. I will probably get a kayak trailer.

BMW MINI of Shawnee Mission review
I brought my leased BMW in for service and since it was near the end of its lease term I met with JT to discuss what I could potentially do for my next vehicle. I was unsure what I needed and wanted next but JT provided excellent service and was able to deliver an incredible car at an incredible price. I would recommend him to anyone I know and he has earned my business again in the future when I come back for my next BMW.

BMW MINI of Shawnee Mission review
This was my best car buying experience. Nick Bozinos, JT Thomas and Clay Shafer were all amazing. They listened to what I wanted and made sure I was clear on the car choices available. I was thinking about ordering a 2027 X5 (design change) and ended up buying a 2026 that was in inventory with plenty of upgrades over my 4 year old X5.

2023 MINI Countryman review
I am on my 2nd Countryman! I was always a Mercedes driver as I had 8 of them. I was looking for something a little taller with plenty of room. I needed all wheel drive and I ended up with so much more. This car is sporty, fun great on the snow and so much room. Also let me highlight it is great on gas. I have had a very good experience with the sales team! I bought with Evan Williams. He still checks in! The service department is so professional and I can't say enough positive things about Mini in Glencoe!

Brayden was wonderful to work with throughout the buying process; very knowledgeable about the vehicle and the technical specifications. His follow-up is awesome, keeps me updated on the process of getting the windows tinted. Reggie in finance was great as well; he outlined the details of the lease and ensured that I was pleased with the terms. Overall, it was an absolute pleasant experience.

2023 MINI Countryman review
Bought a 2023 Mini Countryman ALL4 John Cooper Works Edition of the car, and received my order last summer. Simply put, the performance is AMAZING. Put it in Sport Mode (a minor inconvenience), and it becomes a force to be reckoned with, especially to those unaware of this car’s capabilities. It’s marketed as a Mini—SUV, and I think that’s a fair categorization. Still have plenty of room for passengers, groceries,!etc, without sacrificing much, if any, performance. My only complaints? Difficult/clumsy control mechanism to get into Sport Mode, no native Android support, and rear windows are awkwardly installed, and have been “properly aligned” with remainder of car, instead of giving the appearance of being aligned with front/rear windows. In summation, this car performs better than its competition (a 2L inline 4cylinder, lightly turbocharged/intercooled, AWD, pretty aesthetics, and lots of opportunities for upgrades, beyond 301HP, 331FT/LBS Torque, and you have a contender for “production car SLEEPER OF THE YEAR!”), like the other “hot hatches”. Everytime my wife or I drive it, we NOW take turns.(she was bitten by the Mini bug) driving it EVERYWHERE, from trips to work, to the grocery store, and vacation driving. You really have to drive a JCW in Sport Mode to appreciate what I’ve said. Anyhow, these are my impressions on this amazing little car. Worth every penny, not getting rid of or replacing it, anytime soon!

2012 MINI Cooper S Countryman review
In my opinion the 2012 Mini Cooper S countryman is great. it's like a Mini Cooper that has more room but you still have to deal with the BMW repair prices and BMW repair prices are crap.but aside from that it's not bad at all. It has a turbocharged 1.6 liter Inline 4 engine which is not great for reliability.I can only recommend this car with low miles unless you are a mechanic and you can fix your own car but if not it will be a maintnence nightmare and burn your wallet. they get a lot of failed turbos which can be expensive to fix. The exterior is good it looks super cute!!

Elvis and Aleks were great to work with! Scheduled my test drive on the same day and got to bring home my new car! Everyone was friendly and made for a great experience. Thank you!
2011 MINI Cooper S Countryman review
My Countryman S is reliable and just a great car. I bought it with about 80,000 miles and used it as my daily driver now I have over 110,000 miles and runs great. It is probably the best all around SUV considering it is comfortable, fun to drive, great on gas (I get over 30 mpg on the highway) and it has a lot of cargo space for it's size. I would get another one ins a heartbeat.

Hunter is so easy and professional to work with; he greets me by name and keeps me informed of the progress along the way. I don’t usually use a dealership but I keep coming back because of Hunter.

Easy process, without the pressure and sales noise. They didn't bombard with emails, texts, calls that pressure for a sale and are so irritating.

I had a dilemma that made me make a very hard decision. I talked to Deenee about it and she worked with me on a solution. Ended up making a trade that took care of everything. Got a reasonable offer for my trade in vehicle and came out with a beautiful Cadillac that I will enjoy owning. I'm very satisfied.
