Quick and painless process to get an emergency car

I was in the process of buying a car and reached out to this place for an emergency car. I did have the option of buying a car and currently negotiating on an toyota corolla, the negotiation process is tedious and time consuming. I'm hoping to have a car by end of the week.

I've owned this vehicle for 7 years and it's been fun. While the base model does not have a ton of power, it's still quick and handles extremely well. We no longer have access to a garage, so it's time to let it go.

A Nice Place to Shop a Car
by Jeremy M from El Sobrante, CA
November 5, 2018
All dealers/dealerships aren't created equal. Well this is true in a very positive way as I found a diamond in the rough. My Scion tC finally died (auto transmission) and I always said I was going to replace it with a Lexus IS 300. That's all good until you actually start hunting for one. For those who don't understand, finding an IS 300 is a feat in itself. They sell quickly, and you're lucky to find one under 150,000 mi. Well, not only did I find one, they had two for sale both under 150,000 mi. I drove down (from El Sobrante) the prior weekend to check the place out and get a feel for it as it was a smaller/local car dealership. There, I met Manuel who helped me from beginning to the closing deal. He was very courteous, not pushy, and shot straight with me. I called back the following Tuesday (today) to see if the car was still available as people were inquiring about the car while I was there! It turned out a few individuals made offers, but they were below the listed price. Oh yeah, pricing was the same as the website. I even asked for the out-the-door price (taxes, fees, etc.) and gave me that as well. Needless to say, I was ecstatic! I secured the vehicle today after following up with Manuel. Also, he let me drive it to my mechanic in El Cerrito to get looked at prior to purchasing for my piece of mind. The big takeaways are Auto 4 Less may not be a huge dealership, but they are: respectful, not pushy, and honest. The car buying experience was smooth and easy-peasy! I would recommend. My personal takeaways are: research (common failures, common costs, common lifespan, etc.) the vehicle you are looking at prior to purchasing as that goes a long way!

Has been an excellent car. Bought it new in 2009. Nice to drive and handy, minimal repairs. Toyota powertrain in it is great, 2.4 engine. Would recommend.

We hate shopping for new cars!!! That???s why purchasing our 2019 Bolt from Putnam GM was such a singular pleasure. Getting the price on the car we wanted was done extremely quickly over the phone and by email with Ramin Asbaghi, the Internet Manager. He is a great guy, not pushy, and easy to communicate with. And the price was the best of 4-5 dealerships we contacted. The financial paperwork with Doug took all of 15 minutes and we were on our way. As good as it gets dealing with car dealerships!

Ben was an awesome salesman for me this weekend. He was able to narrow down my search very quickly as far as options for the car I wanted as well as the options I had to finance that particular vehicle. He was very clear and conscise while explaining my options and was able to get me outta the door a lot faster than I expected. Bottom line, I got a great car, it runs perfectly, and im making pretty low payments per month. Im a happy camper.

Bought the car used (3rd owner) from trusted dealership. Ride is a bit harsh because of extra stiff chassis and wheel / tire combo, but it's a blast to drive. Holds road well.

Easy easy EASY way to buy a car!
by janders5511 from DealerRater.com
December 3, 2018
5 5 5 5 5 4.1 (529 reviews)
My old car was my third minivan in 15 years. Now that my kids are older and leaving for college, I wanted something that could carry 6 or 7 passengers but was ... well... NOT a minivan. I did some research on late model used three-row SUVs, and found the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder. (My favorite of my three vans was a 2005 Nissan Quest, so choosing Nissan was easy for me.) Before I started browsing for cars, I applied for credit through Carvana, and was approved. Next, I entered in all of the information about the van I was trading for the Pathfinder. (Beware -- the trade-in amount is only good for 7 days, and it can change wildly in that time!) I was pleased with the trade amount, and it was great that I could shop for my new car and see my down payment and monthly payment for every car I viewed! My specifications were pretty clear -- AWD, less than 10,000 miles, and never a rental car. I found my dream car a few days later, and started the purchase process. It was quite smooth and the directions were very clear about what documents need to be uploaded. When I went to click on "finalize purchase" (or something like that), a red flag popped up...my trade-in value expired WHILE I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF CHECKING OUT! I got on chat with Carvana staff right away, and they were able to return the trade in value to NEARLY what it was before the expiration. This is something that needs to be addressed by Carvana -- once a customer is to a certain point in the process, those numbers need to be frozen. So we set a delivery time, and the Carvana rep was pretty much on time considering he was traveling 70 miles or so from the Chicago office. Everything was smooth -- signed a couple more papers, took my Pathfinder for a spin, Eric inspected my trade, and I left within 30 minutes with my new car. I would also like to add that I drove directly to my mechanic, so he could inspect the car and make sure I wasn't buying something with hidden damage. Mechanic said to me, "This car is perfect, like new." Just what I wanted to hear. Thanks Carvana! I am telling everyone I know about you guys. Good to work with you! Janet - 2017 Nissan Pathfinder

This was by far the best car I have driven. Between the performance, and comfort I could not have been happier. Never had a single issue with this car. Only resin for selling was because I needed a recreational vehicle.

Cheap Muscle
by Trans Am 97 from Meridian
January 11, 2019
4
I've owned my 1997 Trans am automatic for 12 years! I truly love this car but it comes with it's issues. If you want to buy one, look for one that has been taken care of properly. The good: It's fast and handles pretty well in warm weather. I've street raced a ton of people being 18 when I bought it, and won a majority of the races, outside of a Corvette, a ls1 Camaro, a mach 1 mustang (newer version), and a twin turbo rs-7. It runs faster than most cars on the road and the couple times I've taken it to the drag track it's been fun! Sounds great! Have magnaflow exhaust and it's perfect. T-tops are nice. Reliable*** if you consider getting you a-b this thing has only broken down twice from 98k-183k miles. Fuel pump was my fault when I ran it out of gas and a random broken distributor cap from prior owner neglecting to change it. All in all with proper maintenance I would never have been on the side of the road. Never burned any oil Auto Transmission is BULLETPROOF and can handle up to 450hp supposedly no problem. Looks. The bad: this thing constantly needs something repaired. To name a few you will have to replace window motors and headlight motors due to large windows and faulty headlight motor gear. It's leaked oil the whole time I've owned it, now it's leaking power steering fluid, emissions is a constant battle for everyone with these cars and not easy to figure out what is wrong, I've replaced every peice of emmissions equipment except O2 sensors and the check engine light is on for that now, burns some coolant and the low coolant light is known for coming on in these things. Other issues are more normal maintenance but most of the listed issues have gone on the entire time I've owned the vehicle. Everything is tightly fit, so there's no easy task when working on the engine. Changing spark plugs is a nightmare. This thing should not be driven in snow or ice. I did for 5 years and it was by far the worst driving vehicle I've driven in those conditions. It's spins tires super easy when it's cold out with all that torque and limited electronic control which sucks because part of what makes it so fun is that it's fast, and it's not fast 5 months out of the year in Idaho because the tires spin so easy- make sure you plan on paying for untra high performance all seasons or get a set of winter tires. Even a nice 40 degree day could end up with you sideways on a public road. Gas mileage is 13.5 winter 16 summer and you have to use premium. 19-20 going 80 on the highway. You will do better with a 6 speed based on what others say but only a couple mpg. Not horrible but again, not great for daily driver. Loud- this car is loud which is fun for a bit, but I've taken it on trips and mountain drives and getting into my 30s it will give me a headache. Not just the exhaust I have which is pretty mild but there is tons of road and wind noise. Overall: this is a purpose built vehicle that's fun to drive on the weekends and a younger me wasn't bothered by all of the bad things, but this isnt a good daily driver for most people. I still love this vehicle and it has a lot of sentimental value from all of the good times and just being a badass muscle car that looks and sounds good and is pretty fast. If I lived in a warm climate year round and didn't have to pay for a daily driver allowing me to afford to fix all the little issues as they came up I would probably give the trans am a really high rating. If you have extra money and want to spend time wrenching on your vehicle then this is a fun updated version of a muscle car that would be perfect for you

We bought this car as a backup car to use for local errands, commuting to work, etc. and have been very happy with it. We bought it based on solid reviews and the fact that the insides are Toyota parts at a very reasonable price, and haven't been disappointed.
