I bought my 2003 Celica GTS brand new off the lot. I have always enjoyed driving it and still enjoy it. It was a daily driver for me, but I bought a Tacoma P/U, and retired my Celica, and have no intentions of selling it any time soon. It is so much fun to drive, although it is not driven much anymore. I have a little over 100,000 miles on it and still love to take it out for a spin once in a while....fast for a four banger!

Had this car from high school through college and loved it. Was super reliable and fun. Two doors made putting extra people in the car difficult but for getting to and from school it was perfect. Also got great gas mileage. Did not have anti-lock breaks unfortunately and that's the end of that love.

Love this car. Zoom, zoom, zoom! Great gas mileage, sporty, handles great. Interior is not for a real tall person. At 6 ft tall you might feel a bit cramped. Car has required very little work, aside from regular mainentance. I wish Toyota would make them again.

Not one engine problem in 20 years. Takes about half a quart of oil every month or 2 but other than that she hasn't had any work needed beside the usual 5k mile tune up.

I have kept it "stock", it has over 200K miles and going strong. Just took a day trip 400-mile over Sierra-Nevada Highway 80 back and forth from Benicia, CA, and Reno, NV. I will just say I was in the lead, not a follower on the road. Gas usage is 400+miles to a 12-gallon tank. Major repairs: replaced air condition unit due to my error, catalytic converter, engine due to mechanic error.

I have a 2002 Celica GTS with 307,000 miles bought used when it was 3 years old with 125,000. Car is a lot of fun to drive, nimble, light, qyuick, agile, engine revs up quickly, steering precise, suspension sprung just right for high speed freeway cruise. My friends do not feel safe cruising their BMW Z4 and 335s cars over 100 MPH but feel safe and fun at over 1000 MPH in the Celica GTS. The car is versatile with 4 seats and a liftback. The 2ZZ engine is a similar design with the Lexus LFA with a Yamaha's high-speed DOHC, revs up quickly to 8,600 RPM red lne. After 200,000 miles, a few times ran it over heat with broken coolant hose or drive belt, low dirty oil ect, it never broke down, always started, always put out quick, smooth power, howling like a fighter jet. One time after a few years not changing oil, running on low, dirty oil ect, the engine idled very rough, vibrating the car. Shops said nothing trhey could do, suggected swapping engine. I measured cyl 1 compression was 20% lower than average. I figured valves or piston rings gummed up, losing compression. I flushed engine with Motor Medic's Gunk then changed oil. It cleaned everything up, engine was smooth again. Only had to replace a radiator with a small leak, 1 set engine mount, a few ignition coils, 1 O2 sensor, 1 Mass Airflow sensor, EGR carbon cannister, plugs, light bulbs, batteries, oil, fluid, tires ect. My favorite car.

I still love the last generation of the Celica! I owned 3 a 2000 GT in white, black, silver all were automatics, only bc I couldn’t find a standard. I loved every one but every one was totaled one after another. I think it was me, I took a defensive driving class (court ordered) and realized that it really was me. I haven’t had an accident since 2009. I don’t blame the Celica but I credit it to saving my life 3x. I see them on the road on occasion but less and less. IMO the last Gen Celica was totally underrated. It just came at a bad time in American history, but it should be a part of automotive history. If you have one keep it and take care of it. If you have one and don’t care for it, sell it and give someone a chance to own their dream car.

The car is super reliable. I changed from manual gear to automatic gear 5 speed and the performance remains excellent. Unless you are told,you would not know. Increased the shocks to fit in size 17 tyres and with higher ground clearance. Still performs excellent.

Its a great first sports car. It has enough power to make it fun to drive but not too dangerous. It is a good car for backroading or for any other sports car activities. Its also an extremely reliable car, the engine is the same one in the corolla. Can transport 4 people but if they are not short (under 5'5'') it wont be very comfortable for long distances.

The agency is clean, competent, friendly, they get things taken care of in a decent amount of time, there are amenities for customers who are waiting, like pastry and coffee, they wash your car as a courtesy, they keep me abreast of service needed in the near future and I have never had to bring the car back twice for the same issue.

Good on gas , power, and handeling. The only thing ive found faulty was the trunk hinge area is pretty weak and damages quickley.good car though

I've owned alot of different cars and SUVs, and always wanted a celica. When I had to scrap my 99 Toyota Corolla, due to the frame rusting apart, I immediately started shopping for a celica. From the outstanding reliability to the exotic style of the exterior, its easily the best car I've ever owned. I've had it for 3 years, and have almost zero problems. 170k miles on it, and it still runs and corners like a true sports car. I have never modified it, nor ever will. In my opinion, its perfect as is.
