My 36/100 Motorcraft battery needed replaced.
My 36/100 Motorcraft battery needed replaced. It was 43 months old. I was told that Ford no longer prorates batteries and I would need to pay full price. This seemed like a breech of contract to me given I bought the old battery with the understanding of a prorated warranty. Makes me wonder what other warranties Ford may decide not to honor. The new battery was installed while I waited (2 hours). I was not unhappy with the wait given I did not have an appointment. If I knew the old battery would not prorate and provide a discount, I probably would have found another option for less cost and quicker install.

purchase of a Ford Expedition
Even though it was a cold and rainy day I happened into the Katy AutoNation in search for a Ford Expedition with the options I was looking for. I immediately met up with Marco in sales. I told him the auto and model I was looking for and he told me to wait and he would get the keys. He went to get the car and drove it to the front of the facility and we went on a test drive. My experience dealing with AutoNation and the staff was professional and straight forward. Marco was pleasant, knowledgable, and his mannerism was not a hard sales nor a pushy individual. I have since received followup congratulation emails, and a telephone call from Marco to let me know if there was anything I needed to give him a call. I am the happy owner of my new Ford Expedition, and consider the purchase at the Katy AutoNation dealership a good experience.

unresponsive customer service after sale
Totally unresponsive customer service after sale (for a missing part on brand new truck). Custom ordering the vehicle was a good experience. Internet sales manager was good. Finance experience was not great - high pressure tactics to get you to buy an extended warranty, trying to convince you that the vehicle is going to come apart the day after the factory warranty ends (is this the message Ford wants to convey, that the truck will last 3 years and then disintegrate before your eyes?). However, my main problem was after the sale. About a week and a half after buying the truck, I discovered that a very small plastic trim piece was missing from the rear fender (I must have been forgotten at the factory). I emailed the sales guy with a photo of the missing part and asked they they arrange to have the part shipped to me since it was obviously left off at the factory (we are talking about $20 retail cost for this piece of plastic). I get a really, really lame response, basically they can't do anything because I took too long to report it and the part might have fallen off. Give me a break! This part probably weighs 1 ounce and is held on by 3 screws, and you're telling me that in 300 miles three screws have come undone and the part fell off? Did you sell me a lemon, Autonation Ford? I asked that the matter be escalated to an upper manager, and even called asking to speak to a manager about it. I was put through to voicemail and it has been over a week and no return email or phone call. All I'm asking is that they provide me with these cheap parts and provide me with a complete vehicle. It's not like I can call the factory at Dearborn to report this. It's not about the money, it just the point. But it seems that once they have your money they don't care about you anymore. They turned a 4+ star experience pre-sale to a 1-star review after the sale. Autonation, you guys have my email and my contact details, just send me the part. The cost to me at retail is $20 - it's probably costs you less than half that, but your utter lack of follow-up has earned you 1 star. Unless you make it right this is my first and only time buying from you.

The visit to Automation Ford was for possible recalls and regular maintenance. The associate that checked us in was both nice and professional. The vehicle had to be left overnight, however, when picking up, the same associate checked us out. The whole maintenance procedure was smooth. One thing...whomever serviced the vehicle, left the previous service sticker reminder, and added a second maintenance sticker...not sure why they didn’t remove the previous one...
