Bullied and upset
I recently had an awful experience at Sunset Waterloo. I had already test driven the car I wanted at another dealership and came to this one because they had the model and options I wanted. The salesman was great but I had my doubts on the appraisal of my trade in, particularly in some known options of my car brand that were maybe unknown to the staff. He brought over the manager, who had appraised it, to discuss it. The manager, Mark Springer, came over and sat down apparently irritated with my concerns. He looked at me with disgust, and when I raised my concerns he became threatening as if I had challenged his ego. This was not a discussion. He was reprimanding me for not doing as he said- that’s not customer service? I’m not sure if he didn’t like me questioning him, or me -as a woman-questioning him, but his demeanor and glare caused me to feel my arms and legs go weak with fear. I was being bullied and shamed. The altercation was nothing I had expected of a sales encounter. This was the manager! The example for this building? While he continued to speak harshly and negatively about me, in front of my young children, I calmly and without speaking stood and walked out of the building. I was shaking as the salesman came out to apologize for what he witnessed. When you are paying $45,000 for a vehicle, you deserve to feel valued, respected and safe.

Kyle Brewer is top notch guy
Kyle Brewer is an awesome salesman. It would serve him well to go to a different dealership. We went to buy an explorer. We were cutting up, laughing having a fun experience. Our numbers weren’t quite matching up so his manager Mark Springer stepped in and belittled my wife, he fabricated things about our trade in. We were set to make the purchase but his power trip ruined it! Kyle and Jeff are great salesmen but the manager needs to go.

Bill was super friendly, very informative and experienced, definitely would recommend him to anyone I know!! Joshua Evans was my salesman and I can’t say enough about his efforts on making sure I was happy With my choice on my Jeep Cherokee Limited. Excellant service from the sales department !
I have been looking for a good used Jeep Wrangler Unlimited for a while. I ran across an ad from Sunset Ford of Waterloo Illinois. They had a Jeep that I was interested in. I e-mailed the dealership and was connected with Julian Henson. I live in Arkansas and was willing to drive 360 miles and six hours one way to his dealership if we could work out a deal. Julian was an absolute pleasure to work with ! He was very patient with me and all my questions about buying a vehicle from another State. It took me several days to get the Jeep bought because of the way that I work, but Julian kept me posted on the progress of the paperwork involved. There were several issues that came up dealing with my Credit Union, but Julian handled everything. At no time did Julian or Bill Rolufs in Finance, put me under any kind of pressure during this purchase. I highly recommend Julian to anyone considering buying a vehicle. In my opinion, he went above and beyond for my wife and I, going so far as sending me links for tickets to the Cardinal Baseball game and recommending places to eat while in the St Louis area. Julian also topped off my tank on the Jeep for the trip home, which he didn't have to do ! Julian also followed up after the sale a few days later to make sure everything was going well and to answer any more question that I my have had about the Jeep. Absolutely a great guy to work with. Sunset Ford - Waterloo (Joe Hill)
Sunset Ford Waterloo dealership is extremely clean and well organized! All staff are very friendly and helpful yet not too overbearing. We have had experiences with many aspects of the dealership from the service department (Brad Middendorf is very knowledgeable and keeps great communication with the vehicle owners) to most recently the sales department. We just recently purchased a brand new Ford Escape. Joe Hill was wonderful to work with! He was very helpful in answering all of our questions. He was extremely knowledgeable about the car we purchased and as well helpful in showing us how to sync our car with our phones, etc. Mark Springer and Bill Roulfs were also very helpful, attentive and nice to work with! Why choose sunset ford
i Had been trying to buy a ford transit to add to my fleet for about a year. Problem was I wanted a spacific color and was having trouble finding what I wanted. Instead of trying to sell me what I did not want Kyle was patient and was constantly looking for what I did want. When I got the call I went in and within seven days I got my transit shipped, cleaned, prepped, and in my garage. Dedicated, relentless pursuit of what the customer wants is how I would describe my experience. Thank you Kyle and sunset for for taking care of the little guy.

No pressure from the establishment!
I like others shopped around for just a bit and kept receiving worse deals after leaving Sunset. Joe Hill at Sunset Ford new what I wanted! I’ve not bought a new truck in 20 years and was a Chevy guy. I’m a working union carpenter that has drove a 98 gmc for quite awhile! The people I work with couldn’t believe my tight xxx bought a new truck truck, much less a ford! Mr Hill didn’t screw me around! This is the first review I’ve ever written for anything! Give Joe Hill a try and Sunset Ford!

Never felt better about buying a new vehicle
I haven’t bought a new truck in 20 years! I’m very conservative. I feel like I got a no bull crap salesman and finance guy and can’t say enough about how I was helped!
