Ford is recalling more than 254,600 vehicles, including its Explorer SUV and Lincoln Aviator, Nautilus and Navigator SUVs.

Ford’s latest recall affects nearly 273,800 examples of its Expedition and luxury-brand Lincoln’s Navigator SUVs, and it involves an issue that may result in a loss of brake function.

When properly equipped, these model-year 2024 SUVs offer excellent all-around capability with maximum tow ratings ranging from north of 8,000 pounds to 10,000 pounds.

These cars offer panoramic moonroofs or sunroofs either as standard or optional equipment for 2024.

There are lots of choices among the cheaper-to-buy-and-drive mid-size SUVs that, when properly configured, can safely tow at least 5,000 pounds.
