The Hyundai Kona Electric is an all-electric version of the five-seat Kona subcompact SUV. It’s a well-rounded choice that’s long on value; it remains one of the more affordable electric vehicles you can buy. A 2024 redesign brought big improvements, including upsized dimensions for improved passenger and cargo room. All Kona Electrics are front-wheel drive; the base trim has a 48.6-kilowatt-hour battery paired with a 133-horsepower electric motor, while other trims use a 64.8-kWh battery and 201-hp motor. The Kona Electric’s competitors include the Nissan Leaf, Kia Niro EV and Toyota bZ4X
