Kia’s EV9 three-row SUV is joining the Sportage, Sorento and Telluride in the Nightfall club. Introduced at the 2025 New York International Auto Show, the 2026 EV9 Nightfall Edition applies the established pattern of visual tweaks to Kia’s largest EV — and throws in a little bonus above and beyond what the internal-combustion members of the club enjoy.

What Are the EV9 Nightfall Edition’s Features?

Like the previous Kia SUVs to get the treatment, the EV9 Nightfall Edition sports black exterior trim and badging, along with black wheels — in this case, 20-inchers. It also features an exclusive all-black interior. Based on the uplevel Land trim, the Nightfall Edition comes standard with second-row captain’s chairs for six-passenger seating, although a bench seat can be substituted for seven-passenger capacity at no additional cost.

EV Twist

Unlike Kia’s gas-burning Nightfall Editions, the EV9 also makes more power than its diurnal stablemates. Like the range-topping EV9 GT-Line, the Nightfall features a standard Boost upgrade that ratchets output from the dual electric motors from a combined 443 pounds-feet of torque up to 516 pounds-feet. Horsepower remains unchanged at 379, but Kia says the torque increase helps the Nightfall Edition accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds. And, in case passersby fail to notice the black trim, the Nightfall Edition is also the only 2026 EV9 to be available in a new color Kia calls Roadrider Brown.

Release Date and Pricing

The 2026 EV9 Nightfall Edition will arrive at dealerships in the second quarter of 2025, and pricing will be announced closer to the start of sales. It is worth noting that all EV9s are built in Georgia and qualify for the full $7,500 federal EV tax credit. New on the electric SUV for 2026 is a standard North American Charging Standard charge port, which allows owners to use Tesla’s charging network; a Combined Charging System adapter is available.
